Well, there's a lot of opinions about this already in this thread, the vast majority of which will tell you: definitely worth it. My personal opinion; I didn't exactly fall in love with this game as so many people did, but it's a pretty good one nonetheless. For 1.99, I think it's safe to say that you get your money's worth. There's also a Lite to try out if you want to be 100% certain.
This is still the best game I have ever played on the idevices, just wish it had retina support to show off the stunning world. Honestly, amazing game!
yeah the lite was kinda boring.. i liked the gfx and the rpg elements but the gameplay is repetitive and boring
I played for the goofy writing. It's what everyone is saying, Asteroids with some rpg elements. If that doesn't connect than don't pick it up o0" For me it gave more of a Escape Velocity vibe (more so than Warpgate even). Good stuff =P
Ohh superb! this is the one game I always hoped would get retina support! The lite version really didn't do the game justice though which is a shame.
I was just on my way to the thread to ask about a retina update, cool Can you give a ballpark estimate of when it'll be submitted?
Can't wait for a retina update. It's already gorgeous as is; 4x the res would just make it outstanding.
Is there a way to start a new game (or end an existing game) without creating another profile? I've completed it on normal, started a HardCORE game but want to start again but keep my persistent details (total time played etc.)
No, there is no way to start over from scratch. You can change the difficulty though in the options menu by touching the gear in the hangar. You will get credited with the lowest difficulty used to finish that play-through.
any ETA on when the retina update will come out? Been holding back on finishing this after hearing the news last month.
retina doesnt bother me at al But ill hope there will be soon more content of spaceminer so "spaceminer 2" our "space miner blast" would be really nice. Bu i know the devs are hard working on it so ill keep up the spirit!
Some more news form the devs! http://blog.venan.com/2010/10/all-apologies.html just letting you guys know
Call me crazy, but I'm just now getting into the Space Miner world thanks to the recent exposure of Blast. I really enjoyed the look and feel of Blast, however wasn't digging the simple arcade style, not that it's bad, I just have enough arcade type apps atm. However, I'm loving Space Ore Bust! I do have a couple of questions: 1. Does the space background ever change to different planets? Or is it the same purple planet background the whole game? 2. What's the purpose of the Thumb Guide option? Also, can't wait to see how this pops in retina!
Yep, there are different backgrounds. Its basic purpose is to help show you where your thumb is on the control pad. If the guide is far from your ship, then your thumb is far from the middle of the pad. In practice, it helps a lot for aiming your ship. If you aren't using the thrust button, then it is also color coded to show you how close you are to thrusting. Yellow is almost thrusting, and green I believe is thrusting. And the retina update just got pushed up to Apple, so it is now officially days away. And it is pretty... very very pretty
