This game really needs some serious minutes of playing before deeply falling in love. Trust US At first I thought: ok, this is it? meh.... but slowly my heart broke, the game went on and I got hooked, surprised, extremely entertained, addicted... you name it.
Yeah, the lite version is enough to engender a "That's not bad" reaction -- polished and enjoyable but lacking a certain degree of depth, but it isn't until you really start getting into it in the full version and discovering the game's true depth that you start really saying "Damn, this is bloody great, isn't it?" And it is. This is one of only a very small handful of games upon which I completely drained both my iPhone's battery and the JuicePack Air's battery in one sitting -- and I still wanted to play while it was charging. It's really an exceptional game.
You are sooooo wrong on this game, I said it months ago when I bought it and will say it again, this is currently the BEST game for the iphone/touch, it is FANTASTIC, and I am normally very picky with my games (look at some of my recent comments on other new releases). The sequel can't come soon enough!
Perhaps it says more than the Lite... Honestly I hated the lite, but I bought it on advice of people here. It's totally different. You get the story and the addons and all that hoo-haw...
The lite version doesn't do right to the full version! But you gett the idea from it. only you will miss the mission and the upgrades that the game has!

This looks of the makings of part of the full version and has me wanting it now.
so what happens on further levels? are there big bosses or something like that or you just keep shooting asteroids?
Robots, stranded astronauts, alien technology, ship customization, big bosses,, and a hilarious storyline that holds it all together.
Will the HD update require us to repurchase the game & at a higher cost? Does it only apply to the iPad? I assume it does (if so then I'm not bothered because I'll never own an iPad) I'm just wondering if I should get it now or wait. Mind you the price is US$4.99 now (someone needs to change the thread title) so its not like I have to buy it before it gets more expensive. Wish I knew about the price earlier on otherwise I would've snapped it up I do like the Lite version and I can see how the full version will be better (I love upgrading vehicles) although the controls were a tad annoying. Doesn't matter how well its implemented, whenever there's a game out that looks like it should have a real Dpad it just causes anger for me. I wouldn't mind having a Dpad addon that fits into the iPod/iPhone's charger port so I could use it for some particular games because there's nothing worse than fingers covering up gameplay and most importantly precision that doesn't give you sweaty fingers that constantly slide off the surface I've got the perfect iTunes music to go with this game - Cowboy Bebop OST! edit: Any evidence of a slight price drop to go with the big update?
Just to clear up the confusion on the update - we are NOT doing an iPad style HD update. Since everyone has decided to coin those letters for their iPad versions I guess it is a bit of a misnomer. The new graphic enhancements are for the iPhone 3GS and 3rd gen iPod Touch that have OpenGL ES 2.0 hardware. For those devices, we've added some cool rendering effects with normal, specular and glow maps so the asteroids, ships and enemies look way cooler. We'll have a movie showing some before and after shots soon. The update also has new equipment, achievements, and alien tech along with a new Ultracore, single life, difficulty mode. We haven't made a definitive decision on an iPad version yet. Based on our limited resources, my preference is to concentrate on the sequel, but we may do an iPad port. If you'd like to see an iPad version though, feel free to post that desire here! We aim to please
Dang, even though my iPod Touch is supposed to be 3G its only got 2G specs since its the 8GB version Thankyou Apple for ruining games for me Currently AU$5.99 on my iTunes Store. You talking about previously or that's the price on the US iTunes atm? And if its a steal why am I only half stealing it for its current price?
