    Hi Guys

Just bought SM. Really looking forward to playing it!

I bought it because of all you guys saying it's amazing and stuff.

Wouldn't have normally gone for this sort of game, but oh well, should be good. :)

  3. There's a lot of substance to this game. Some people have compared it to a pimped-up Asteroids, but I really don't think that even remotely does it justice. It's hard not to enjoy this game and all of its content.

Yeah. This game is pretty addictive. I feel like more iPhone games would be if the controls were as tight as the ones in this game. I am at the end, just clearing all the sectors before beating the game and I already have a few ideas for a sequel.

    1) Leave your asteroid field and go to different solar systems to mine. Kind of like in Mass Effect when you travel around in space with the different star clusters in the galaxy. I'm not saying it has to be as deep as Mass Effect but it would be cool to go places outside of Gritstone.

    2) Co-op/Competitive multiplayer. I think it would be cool if Jade and that other guy could work together in the field at the same time. Blowing up asteroids, fighting drones, saving people, etc. Or they could work like this: one person could bet the 'gunner' and the other 'the collector'. The gunner's ship would have a higher speed and lower health along with the bad ass weapons. The collector's ship would have the strong collector, higher shield, and high cargo bay space.

For competition there could be races for speed, point challenges, etc.

    3) Go beyond just blowing up rocks: Send us to space stations, lead us into level sized asteroids that we can explore inside with just our head lamps. Have us fight alongside the space army against a fleet of aliens or robots or humans.

    Just to name a few.

I love this game, but the controls were buggy on me today :(

Is anyone else having a crashing problem where the game keeps crashing at a particular point? If so, do you know a solution?

I'm on my second playthrough, with everything except the final boss cleared. Whenever I beat the boss and am on the credits screen where you save the 21 tourists as Captain Whatshisname, the game crashes back to the home screen when

    i) I've saved all 21 tourists, or
ii) I choose to skip the sequence

I've rebooted the device and it doesn't do anything. The crash happens every single time, at the same point. On the bright side I am getting really good at taking down the final boss.

It has something to do with some app or add-ons in your iTouch. I had same problem with my GF's iTouch 3rd Gen until I deleted her winterboard and the game no longer crashed. Try reset all data if all fails

Hmm. I tried deleting Winterboard and disabling addons, it didn't do anything. So then I deleted everything else unofficial on there including Rock, thinking I'd just restore afterwards.

Bad move. I guess this is old news for most people now, since it came up last month but it seems that Apple is no longer allowing restores with firmware other than 3.1.3, which isn't able to be jailbroken. :( I guess I have no choice now, might as well update to 3.1.3, and see if it fixes the issue. I hope someone comes out with a jailbreak for 3.1.3 (unlikely) or 4.0 comes out when the iPad is released and it gets hacked soon (more likely).

Sorry to hear that but there might still be a way to restore to 3.1.2. If u backed up ur SHSH ID on cydia u can restore thru Saurik's server.

Venan, if u read this, please add multiplayer feature into this game. 1 on 1 or 2 on 2 dog fught combat will certainly draw more ppl into this game and add infinitely replayability.

Nope, afraid I didn't. I didn't know you could back up your SHSH ID on Cydia, and besides I always used Rock.

I'm not too upset, I imagine a jailbreak will release soon after the iPad releases and v4 of the firmware is out.

U don't do it manually, cydia automatically back it up for u. u just have to visit cydia before u reset everything. In cydia, it should say something like "This device has SHSHs on file for iPhone OS: 3.1, 3.1.2, 3.1.3" If u happened to visit cydia weeks ago(not month ago), chances are u might have SHSH stored in cydia. Go to iClarified.com for tutorials on how to use saurik's server for restore

I gave it a shot, and what do you know? I must've sent my SHSH via Cydia without knowing. Worked fine, and I now have my 3.1.2 firmware and jailbreak back. Thanks a lot Hai5, I owe you big time.

Oh, and after all that, it made no effect on the crashing in Space Miner. It still crashes every single time at the same point, even when running the newest firmware with no jailbreak. Very frustrating since I can't finish the game or start a new game plus. I was planning on doing another run through on hardcore since I had done just that on this playthrough, but unfortunately I accidently changed the difficulty to hard after dying a few times on the final boss.

Update: After about 20 attempts, I finally made it past the point where it kept crashing. What I did was pause at the post-final battle section with the tourists and exited the game, then reentered the game and skipped the section. I am now able to go into a new game plus.

Glad I helped. i think the problem lies on the end game credit "saving developers" part. as soon as u press skip button the game crashes. Seems like u found a possible solution by exiting the game in that part. wonder if it works on others who got the same issue.

Just a quick announcement if you were on the fence for Space Miner - the price is going up tomorrow to $2.99 so grab it while you can at $1.99.

Our first update is finally finished and is going into Apple today. In addition to fixing a lot of the crashing issues, you'll also be getting support for User Music, screen flipping, performance enhancements and some other minor tweaks.

And for those of you waiting for a lite version - that should be going into Apple tomorrow.

    Thanks everyone!

People are waiting for a lite version? Wow...I'm really surprised this game isn't more popular.
Easily one of my all time favs and I've logged in lots of hours.
Even @ $3 this game is an absolute steal!
    It's a must buy!

I can't belive I bought it like a week before it dropped to 1.99 :(
Oh well, it's still worth it for 4.99.
Are there going to be any updates soon? We need an option to hear our own music, it's kind of a big deal P:
