Got it, love it, wanna keep playing it! Thanks to the TA forums, I bought something I'd never heard of in a genre I don't usually like. This game is a gem!
Another Satisfied Customer. Great I wish I could have more free time to restart "Space Miner" adventure on the higher difficulty level. But not yet, not on Monday... Ok, let me go to AppStore and check "SM" position inthere... 54 5-star ratings including 36 5-star exhaustive reviews. I have never seen it before.
K, I LOVE rpg's and games like iDigIt, but I'm still hesitant. The video didn't do much for me, I still haven't unlocked TED mode on AC2, I still haven't beaten GTA:CW, I'm still in tier 1 in Necromancer Rising, I haven't beaten Avatar, and I haven't even played NFS Shift after downloading a month ago. Should I?
Yes. Download, install, tap the icon and forget about other games. You can't compare it to GTA: CNW becaus both are totally different. But "Space Miner" for sure will provide You more fun, than rest of the games mentioned.
On the front page review, Blake called it one of the best games he's ever played on the iPhone. I can't disagree myself, and I bet you would find that many of the people who have posted on this thread wouldn't either. In terms of overall quality, I put it on par with GTA:CW easily (GTA has more content, of course). And the whole thing was developed and released by an independent team. If that doesn't get you to spend $5.00 on the game, I don't know what will.
hah... YES!!! ...it's just "one more" game... what harm could it do? And on top of that, it could scratch that "want-to-explore-and-blast-the-sh*t-out-everything-with-a-visually-and-aurally-pleasing" feeling we all have after a rough day...
Haha no! I'm also enjoying Parachute Ninja, doodle jump, minigore/guerilla bob, etc. Those games don't really have as much to beat though. You guys got me though. I'll download in the morning. Especially if the dev. promised not to drop the price. That's happened to me WAY to much lately. Thanks guys! (haha TA's gonna make me poor!)
Huh? No way. There is a difference between VENAN and VOVIN. I said the following in a comment to Blake's article: "Vovin says: February 7, 2010 at 11:12 am Hmmm… Leave him in his dreamland and do what he can't do: enjoy this magnificent game. P.S.: this game won't be free or on sale for the next 12 month… " I was kidding and mocking blackHorse, because he asked when Space Miner will go free. Sorry, if you got that wrong. But, when thinking about it - I really don't expect a price drop or even a free day for Space Miner in the next months. Sales of Space Miner are running very good, and there is a dev team with quite a bunch of people behind this game... so no sale before ROI. My guess. And when you play this game, you'll see that every single cent of your 5 bucks is well worth the game. And remember: by supporting Venan Arcade, we'll make sure that there are other cool games in the future. They need the money to develop other fantastic games. Last but not least: this dev team really rocks! (and cares for their fans and community). Now my final conclusion: this is a game that even Aurora may like (very much)!
Before i get this game, is this game like GTA: CW? What i mean is, does this game have a lot of content and is still (sort of) fun after the storyline?
Very great game! Just finished it 100% asteroids/enemies cleared & snagged the #1 spot on the leaderboards
All of the fun is leading up to the last mission of the game. However do as much as you can, (mining, upgrading your parts, finding alien artifacts, getting achievements, etc). Trust me, you'll be addicted enough to want to do everything before you complete the last story mission of the game. The game will even warn you that once you do the last mission you can't come back to the sector map. Don't see that as a negative, so much as all the fun to be had in this gem of a game is everything you do leading up to it.
I'm not convinced since the videos and screenshots only look like a polished version of Asteroid. Wish there's a lite version to prove me wrong.
You're so wrong, you wouldn't believe it. But we don't force you to buy and play the game. It is, in fact, just a matter of time when you can't resist anymore. Soon you'll be overwhelmed by a craving and longing feeling for Space Miner. It will grow stronger, hour by hour. This happens to nearly everyone... so we don't need to put any efford into convincing you. Heck... it seems that people, who are not convinced by now, haven't read the thread.
From your signature, it seems that you enjoy playing orignal games from independent developers/publishers. If that's true, then you will really enjoy this game. I can't think of a better answer to your question. Read Blake's review: it does a great job detailing everything that's great about the game.
95% of user impressions in this thread are hugely positive, yet people are still posting asking to be convinced and not sure whether to spend £2.99? A price of a burger and it's such a hard decision when the comments in here are so glowing? I really don't understand some people. If a whole thread of positive comments isn't enough to spend £2.99 then I wonder what it took for them to spend so much money on even buying their iDevice
Read through any one of the twenty-six pages. If EVERYONE says it's worth it and that it isn't a version of Asteroids then I'm guessing it's worth it and not just a polished version of Asteroids.
The main problem is: you can't define Space Miner exactly. Is is something new, something (at least I have) never seen before. And you have to play it. You can't describe the feeling of the game.
