Greg Michael Active Member Sep 24, 2011 27 0 0 #3 Greg Michael, Sep 24, 2011 Thanks...we kind of did base the idea around the Vectrex system... This from the official press release... "Space Junk is based around an imaginary console, the RetroVex Advanced Games System, which in turn is based on the home consoles of the ‘80s. All RetroVex games are rendered in the classic cool retro Vector style, with a bright colourful neon look, on top of deep dark backgrounds. More games for the RetroVex system are planned for the near future as is support for GameCentre Leaderboards and Achievements." LordGek Well-Known Member Staff Member Patreon Silver Patreon Gold Patreon Bronze Feb 19, 2009 12,282 141 63 Software QA Engineer Saratoga, CA, USA #4 LordGek, Sep 24, 2011 WOWZA! If this is only a small sampling of what is in store for us count me down as an instant buyer sight unseen of all of your upcoming games! It is clearly "yet another asteroids clone" at its core, but the vector models are so detailed and smoothly animated! There are no borders (although there clearly is some sort of limits to the space as things flying far to the left appear back to the right of you) and your character is always in the very center of the screen so there are never any "blind corners" as it were. It's also neat how the different shapes break apart in interesting pieces. Blow Sputnik apart and just look at the crap that comes out! Even cooler is some of the "Asteroids" (although rarely that in this game, but you get my drift) sometimes contain little wrenches that you can snag up for extra points (if you look carefully at the asteroids you can even see which ones will drop these little morsels). The occasionally appearing UFOs are nasty and will invariably require multiple hits to take out! On the nice side, however, is that UFOs always leave a power-up, in the form of a toolbox, in their wake once destroyed! Once you've cleared a level you'll receive bonuses based on your accuracy, number of UFOs you blasted, and the time it took for you to complete the level. 5/5 bagofeyes Well-Known Member Jul 27, 2011 150 0 0 Australia #5 bagofeyes, Sep 24, 2011 looks nice Greg Michael Active Member Sep 24, 2011 27 0 0 #6 Greg Michael, Sep 24, 2011 Many thanks glad you like it...please help and spread the word Ned and I have been working in the video game industry since the late 80's, but this is our first indie game. The thrust button is too far into the screen to play comfortably. Can we please get an update that allows us to freely place the on-screen controls where we choose? This really (really!) needs to be standard for iPad games. Great to read about you guys on your site, looks like both of you were involved in some of the games I grew up with, especially Silkworm & SWIV. Space Junk plays and looks great. Love the style of it all. Great sounds too. Nice to be a character rather than just another ship. Also, the game really rewards you for being accurate... very satisfying. This running in the iCade would be a great way to start the day! Plays great on the iPhone too. Any plans for Gamecenter to be added?
