You will soon find out it is faster playing the original board game. Thankfully you can issue orders without waiting for another to stop moving. I'm in two minds on this, I'm sure it'll be a hit on iPad and as far as multiplayer goes it should be better suited to it then PC. Overall I think it delivers but it can be a bit of a chore.
If that is the only issue, the developer can easily implement a redraw current active 3D model at target location toggle and just cut out the animation.
The actual physical board game, though, is A LOT more expensive. I think the "new" 2009 version was selling for about $90, but it's now over $300 on Amazon for a new copy of the game.
I wouldnt disagree about pricing (especially considering that was a limited edition run), but cost wasn't really the issue.
I'll happily pay whatever they were asking just to have space hulk on my iPad, the board game is exactly what I want, I don't want a new improved video game version, it seems like full control knew what they were doing and have delivered the board game in digital form. Can't wait just over a day to go
Unless you monitor the pen and paper RPG forums religiously, you are apt to miss the Space Hulk rerelease. By the time I heard about it, it was unavailable everywhere.
It had been out a few months before I heard wind of it too, I only wish a) I still had the first edition and expansions, b) had been aware of the more recent limited edition run prior. The digital version helps, but isn't a substitute.
Waiting for the (NZ) upcoming impressions. Odd, I'll check back in a little to see if anyone updated and created a thread.
What was the search term you used in the App Store? I searched for "Space Hulk" and it did not turn up...
I'm guessing they'll just activate it tomorrow and it will be available ASAP on each store, rather than it starting on NZ in a few hours.
Ok thanks. I will stop camping here and go play something else. See you guys on the space hulk... "Wait, is that an extra Genestealer arm? Or are you just glad to see me?" asks Spots the Space Marine...
