And with each session this thing is growing on me. First mighty GOTY contender here as well. What Wayward Souls is for others, this game is for me! Dang, I love it! Perfect ballance if skill and luck. Perfect speed. Soooo addicting and immersive.
For those asking about Portrait mode.. I did some experiments, and altho it could be possible in theory, right now it would require a lot of work on the interface and many other area's. Texts and inventory screens don't fit, the scrolling gives no room horizontally, monsters line-of-sight would man they would shoot from outside the visible area, and the list goes on Game simply wasn't designed with that in mind. So sorry for that one, but looks like it won't be coming ;( I did get leaderboards working! so that makes the game more interesting, and especially the daily-challenge more functional (seen some great runs on the Android version where the update is already live). Also looking into MFI controller support, should get an MFI controller tomorrow for testing and then I'll submit the update with all these improvements to Apple (which currently takes on average 4 days to process)
Sounds good, no worries. I did assume it would not be an easy change, but I knew you would look into it, and that's good enough. Maybe in the future, or for a sequel! Best.
Fabulous game, enjoying it a lot. Only thing holding me back from playing more is the controls... I hate suggesting stuff, especially when I couldn't do it any better myself. I know there's been control talk previously -resizing/opaqueness etc. and that you're looking into it. I was just playing Sproggiwood, and my suggestion is that the swipe anywhere for direction controls from that game would be perfect for this. Though I'm sure you've already thought of something like that and whether they'd work or not. Probably a complete pain in the ass to implement, I wouldn't know. I'm just adding my thoughts to the mix with the single intention of wanting Space Grunts to be the best it can be. Everybody likes options when it comes to stuff like this.
No, but you can shoot or shuffle. Obviously shooting wastes 1 shot. Shuffling often works coz the enemies sometimes move away or don't move at all.
It is a fun game. Had to fight hard to reach the stage 16 and the final Exit. This worked for me easiest with the Soldier Class. Most important are the Items you find. Thx for this great game. But: After winning with this one class i hoped to unlock a new class or get anything new. But nothing. This was so frustrating so that i deleted this game. its so hard to win one session in this game and you get nothing for it? Come on.
satisfaction and bragging rights.. that's something! (oh and unlocking characters is done in a different way depending on character)
I will probably side with Ghostdog1 here (not that I've been even remotely close to level 16 ). Anything we could unlock at end of game, or something? A New Game+ of sorts? New classes? Stronger characters? I can imagine going through it all, finally winning it and then... ok. Just a thought. But it's cool to see someone has finished it!
I'll probably never finish the game, it's damn hard -- level 7 is my best. I would love to see new characters though, we could use at least 5 or so new character types (if nothing more than a different look) also additional skins and colors? Maybe be able to assign points to their strength, tech and luck to balance it how you'd like? Something about multiple character choices increases replay for me.
There are 6 characters already tho and it's not like adding things like that is as easy as writing about it (each character needs balancing in the gameplay) I think the leaderboards (coming in next update) will also add the replay value, since it adds another dimension to "just" completing the game (it shows your time also). And altho completing level 16 is a nice goal, it's far from the only thing the game has to offer - at least I hope The game has alternate routes, and the achievements give you some alternative goals to go for (completed with each character, unlock the 3 other characters.. have you found Gaia yet? )
Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed playing the game very much... I think I may just be comparing th game more to Nuclear Throne, lot of diverse characters that keep me wanting to come back for more.
Aren't the three other characters just reskins of the original 3? Any hints or types on finding "Gaia"?
Actually just had a little brain-fart; completing the game will perma-upgrade the character. So it starts with stronger weapons.. which is a nice small addition coming in the next update
You shoul be able to cancel out of the computer if you dont wanna use hack card imo. Also why move after using an item?
that's on my bug list (the cpu access screen) Using an item is a tactical decision and thus a turn (just like shooting is a turn)
