The game launched at 50% off, but the discount was supposed to end on Friday. But due to possible time zone confusions or App Store issues, the price went up even though it was still Thursday for some people. So the developer did a really nice thing and dropped the price back down to the 50% off price for the weekend.

I really like it! The level design is interesting and I really like the daily challenges. I saw him saying a leaderboard couldn't be implemented yet but still enjoyable to play. The characters are definitely different play styles but I feel like it's confusing. For instance the last character, the item user, has the lowest strength rating but her weapons seem to be more powerful with lower range, and the warrior character with the highest strength rating doesn't do significantly more damage than the captain. The main noticeable difference between captain and warrior is the drop rate for items. Very odd.

that's the start tho.. if you get further (level 4+), the Tech will be really behind with her weapon power (when upgrading weapons it's usually less power and lower range added to it) so you'll need to use the items much more to survive (which last much longer for her)

strongarm has much faster weapon upgrades available, and they become stronger and bigger range

    captain is in-between weapon wise

This... unlockables and permanent upgrades... who wouldn't want them? They would push this game from 'must have' to 'never leaving my device, ever'.

I'm only early into the game so I guess I'm not qualified to comment yet, but some kind of progress, some carrot on a stick, something that when you get really far and die, you feel like you've made some progress... would push this game into legendary territory for me. Just my thoughts at this point. The more I play I'm sure the more I'll 'get it' and hopefully I'll look back on this post and eat my words.

Amazing game Pascal, my favourite of yours so far. Thankyou.

Well there are the datacards and storycards as perma items in the game, explaining the story and the monsters/hazards
and of course 3 unlockable characters and a bunch of hard to unlock achievements :)

Pascal and all work the portrait request: if you put the controls like this, you can easily mock up what it'd play like, one handed. Try it and play it like that for a moment (I'm right-handed so you probably would invert the buttons if you're left-handed).

I actually think it rocks looks like this - it's just the non-rotated perspective at the moment that makes me sick (but I get that from some 3d games as well).

    Please consider it :)

I'm just starting to see the entire beauty of the game. Already I can tell my previous comment is unfounded. The game doesn't need the stuff I mentioned. Completing it with each character and learning/getting better as you go is more than enough.

Normally I would give up after X amount of unsuccessful runs in other roguelikes but with this one I already know I'll not stop till I see each character to the end. For me that's testament to an awesome game. One again thankyou.

Walking into rooms already on fire with a scientist in them. New video gaming hate target. Also, when you realize how this is very similar to a top down doom 2 rpg. Which is not a bad thing.

    Loving this so far.

Is there any difference in the daily run vs normal or is it like a high score or is there more to it?

It's just a fixed seed in an otherwise random game. So when you want to see who's King of the Dungeon on a particular day, yourself or Johnny, by both playing the day's Daily Run you can prove who's the bigger man and neither of you can claim, "Ahh, you just got lucky with an easy setup."

It's really good! Sort of giving me a turn based nuclear throne vibe. The only thing I'd change would be to be able to resize the buttons for when I'm playing on an iPad pro

That's kind of a shame bro, I find myself playing more than Crashlands since it dropped.

Both games have charm, but this one is more my style. But man it's unforgiving, can't seem to pass level 5.

I second this. Also just an observation, the iPad version seems to be a different resolution at least on the air. Really really good job on this one tho orangepascal looking forward to heroes of loot 2 next!

I was like that too, till I realized how random it was. Also, the game is kicking my butt, because I want to OCD clear levels.

Still hate scientist getting killed when I open doors.

Can we expect MFi support in the future?

Playing this just trying to kill time til the Super Bowl... I finally hit The Labritory (stage 7)... It's the furthest I've got. =oP

But the more I play, the more I'm loving it, and the more I'm really appreciating the differences in the characters.

    Fantastic, FANTASTIC game. =oD

    **edit**
Awwwww shit.. I hit stage 11...
This game is awesome. GOTY contender for sure, and it's got me so psyched for Heroes Of Loot 2...

Thank you for bringing this to mobile. =oD

as soon as I can get my hands on an MFI controller for testing. I had code ready for it, but my external beta testers said it would crash with a controller attached.

so now I need to get a controller and test it myself and see why.. !
