Anyone noticed the difference between stats?!?
Not sure what more « tech » really does?!?

That is my humble opinion but since you move on so many squares during a playthrough swiping would be a chore.

But I’m all in for portrait mode!

Portrait and swipe to move as options would be very welcome.

    1. I'll look into adding it as an option in the settings menu

    2. had more requests for this.. right now you CAN see how many of a specific card you have (if you select it in your hand, it will show "X in deck") but maybe I can work on a screen showing a global view of how many of each card you have. Altho it won't be a list of all the cards in order, because that removes some of the strategy out of the game of drawing a random hand! ;)

    3. don't think I can fit/squeeze everything on the screen in portrait mode.. I'll give it a try, but it would be one of those things that looks "ok" on some devices, but crappy on many others (smaller) ..which is often a reason to not implement it for any device... But I know many people like to play in portrait mode and with just one hand ! so I'll check it out

@orangepascal honestly I think you should really consider including:

    1) A viewing window to see the entire cards currently in your deck being able to see each card in full. See any deck builder for how this is done.

    2) Similarly a way to see our remaining cards in deck. This is a randomised view, not in order.

    3) And I think this one gets me a little bit the most: A way to see the cards that are loot on the tile. Rather than just a little tiny image of the item on the tile. Ideas could be either: allow us to tap on the card to have a pop up appear of the actual card so we can review if we want it or not. Or when we move to the cards tile, have the card displayed on screen with a selection to add to deck or not. In this screen you should also allow us to access our entire deck just to help review our current deck and make the decision.
I get that this will maybe slow the pace of the game down, and that over time we ‘may’ start to recognise each item on the ground, but not really. They’re so small, and currently it’s really restrictive particularly for new players to get in to it. Currently the game seems to outwardly promote ‘deck bloat’. That is, adding everything and anything. Maybe that’s the idea? Maybe it’s intended we collect every loot because it’s always more powerful? Well then I’m not sure how deep this card collection mechanic of the game actually is in all honesty.

how do we do that? I’m pretty sure I signed up but haven’t noticed any email to unlock a character yet.

Going to download and check the game out, I do enjoy tbs games rouglike not always as much. Is there anything that carries over or that makes you feel like your progressing like in dead cells or just completely new each time?

I had to sign up twice. No idea why it didn’t work the first time, but the second time I got a confirmation email and the newsletter with the unlock shortly after.

Instant buy because ...... well it is another OrangePixel game after all.
Though I am really over card battle mechanics. Every bugger seems to be adding that mechanic to their games these days.

And while I support having a portrait option please make it just that.... an option. Some of use do like landscape mode, especially on a big iPad Pro. ;)

Is there a way to know which cards will show up before an encounter? Or who does the game determine which cards to show up?

It saves at the beginning of levels and you can quit and resume where you left of at that point, but you can’t manually save.

    Game auto-saves between levels

The deck is build based on your skills (attack, defense, tech) as you level up, higher cards become available and also depends on which character you pick at the start. I'm working on a full wiki for this: https://www.orangepixel.net/wiki/sgrunts2-cards but most of that info is also available in the Stats menu in the game (once you used a card)

Other stuff coming in next update (weekend / Tuesday):

    - fixing the notch covering some of the inventory
    - swipe+hold to move (actually works pretty well!)
    - an overview of the "cards in your deck" with how many of each you have.
    - couple of tiny fixes/changes

New pause screen will be looking a bit like this (still designing it):
Tapping the "Cards in deck" will show a big version of the card so you can remind yourself of what it actually does.

some final testing, and then pushing the update

love the game, how work teleporter ?

    +1111111111111 for portrait mode

    - walk over teleporter to activate it (it's a safe spot, only 1 teleporter active at a time)
    - certain cards can bring you to the teleporter out of a battle.. so find+use those cards! ( Gadget character has most chance of finding them, as it's a Tech card )

I got to the end boss.
Damn he is not easy. You must have a real good combination of cards.
    Good luck folks!

Just wondering why sometimes there’s a card already played in your deck. Also really appreciate the swipe to move controls. Much better! Farthest I’ve made it is level 5 so far. I had a bunch of other ? but can’t remember them now *grabs pen and paper*

you probably mean cards like shields? those are in your inventory (underneath your avatar in the statusbar) - they last multiple turns and the amount of turns is in the top-right corner of a card (with things like fists/idle/retreat having infinite turns)

oh you can also reset the tutorials in the settings if you didn't read them ;)

Yes, it was the shield. I didn’t realize active buffs were right under the avatar. Thanks a lot for the clarification! I’ll definitely recheck that tutorial. Amazing job on this game!
