It is now, but only time will tell how he freemium switch will ultimately affect the game, regardless of what has been said. We don't know how store pricing will change, etc. I'm still hoping for the best.
the prices already changed - 2 days ago. the good news with the new shop is that you will be able to switch powerups/costumes while playing, without paying anything extra. i think that makes up for the fact that we're adding revive.
Not to be a downer, but I've seen many games push coin rewards out without an update. And in the meantime, more and more people picking the game up for free will be getting the same reward. I know there's a lot of players in this thread that played enough to already get most -- if not all -- of the upgrades. With Thanksgiving, work and other obligations, I'm not one of those people. Anyway, I thought the prices wouldn't change until the update so it's hard to believe you can update the store prices and yet not push out a bonus to those who bought it at the same time. That also left the original buyers no choice but to accept the "rebalancing" when we could have chosen not to update. Believe me I want the game to succeed. And this has absolutely nothing to do with the original $1 spent. It has to do with changing the business model just a few days after release. In a lot of cases, people choose just to not update if a game goes freemium. Sounds like we don't have that choice.
The game doesn't have any online server stuff in it so we don't have the capability to just give away free coins and stuff like other freemium games do - that's why it has to happen with the update. The IAP prices are all controlled in iTunes - but the free coins thing is something we have to code into the new update - if that makes sense. It shouldn't be too long before it hits...
Question to Josh: Is it possible to skip a challenge? A lot of us dont multiplay. None of my friends are gamers. But my current challenge is to get 8250 points on 2 playermode. Its too hard to do the 2 playermode by yourself and i tried that. But i cant proceed anymore either because of this.
Implementing revive's is going to ruin the game. Previous high scores are now obsolete. Also, please remove the hackers from the leaderboards.
At this point going back to paid would be suicide - there is no more ranking boost when switching from free to paid anymore, so it would just get buried. With being free - at least there still is the potential of making some money to cover the development costs and marketing we did. Personally I thought the game would be a big hit as a paid app - but when it got on the charts - it just kind of sat there, like noone cared, and most of the people that got it, were getting it illegally (75%)
This. There should not be multiplayer challenges that are required in the single player mission. I don't play this game with anyone, so I feel like I'm being punished for that.
I had never had any crashes, but this just happened: >playing game. >randomly crashes. >open game back up. >game actually saved my progress >takes me back to where I was in game >taps aren't registering ~75% of the time >close game >open game >entire process happens again >close game >open game >seems to be ok now
Really hoping the update will delete the 2 player challenge I have to do in a 1 player game as I cant get any new challenges now.
Ok. So the update is finally live and figured, I'd start playing again. Haven't dug in to see what has changed, but my first question would be, what happened to the 20,000 coins early adopters were supposed to get with the update?
The coins didn't come with the update? I'm hoping that the Gold Digger iap fixed now, not been able to use it since purchasing.
