That escalated quickly And yes, it is a very quick way to destroy a business. As I mentioned a page or two ago, I went from their model customer to just another guy on the forums pissed off overnight. one day i bought the game, gifted the game, bought the in-apps, rated it 5-Stars in multiple locations, gave praise to it, and recommended it online. The next I quit playing it and was publicly expressed my discontent with the company. These sorts of things snowball. I can assure you this move did not serve its purpose, and a solid marketing strategy from the beginning would have prevented it.
Totally off-topic but why are women so quick to point out sexism on things when at the same time from my experience many times way they talk about men to each other would make most men blush to their ears. Just thinking aloud. /end of derail. Edit: this meant in general, not pointing dclose here.
The game. All of this nonsense aside... This game is fantastic. I'm a big runner fan, and this may be one of the best out there. I really hope they find success with this title.
Agreed, looking back on it I was complaining over 69p sure it was annoying to see the switch but if it helps the game in the long run then here's hoping it all goes well, Because getting back on topic here this really is a fun game, hard but fun
The Airdrop Paradise upgrade does not make Airdrops occur more often. It actaully seems like I am getting them less.
I usually get up to around the wargasm level and get three/four airdrops with the upgrade active whereas without it I'll only get one or two. I really don't like the saw, it gets tangled on the planet and pulls me around sometimes.
Only iap i bought was the coin doubler. When owning that all other iaps are useless. Within a day i owned everything except for the costumes. It needs a heck of a lot more really usefull stuff. And it needs to be more expensive. Why would people buy if it takes them just 3 games to play? Still love the game though. Ps: hate the saw as well
I agree the game is great, but it's not the $.99 I'm upset about, it's the changes that may come with the freemium model. So I'll be anxious to hear about the balancing changes and may just never update if I don't like what I hear. I doubt many, if any of those who have expressed concerns in this thread are really upset about losing a buck. It happens all the time with price drops. So now it's just a waiting game... And honestly there's been very few transitions to freemium that truly went well for those who originally paid. So having been on this boat many times, I'm jaded and skeptical.
True I can only think of one game that switched from paid to free and I still liked it afterwards and that was whale trial.
This is what is likely to happen (but not fully confirmed yet): We're adding a shop that you can tap on when you crash on a planet. It will be optional, you don't have to tap on it - but it will allow you to change your powerups and and costumes while playing. We are going to add some new costumes and possibly some new air drops. We are going to increase the price of the coin doubler - seems like we had it way too low, since some people said they didn't want to buy anything ever after paying 99c for the doubler. For now, we're going to keep the hearts starting at 5. I think the game is still on the difficult side for many people - so 5 seems like enough for people to get the hang of it. We're changing the 'lab' to the 'shop' - people just aren't getting the fact that you can buy stuff. We're adding a revive feature, buy hearts to continue, but optional of course. That's it for now...
I can't believe how long I actually jumped over the fire caused by the drop-offs, assuming it hurt you
great, one of the few endless games without the whole revive shit get's a revive feature. Can't wait for the update... not.
