One other thing too ... though to be honest I probably won't see any reply comments here since I will no longer be checking this thread (pretty happy with my latest sorcery 4 ending though if anyone has any ?'s they can always send me a PM here which in turn will send a notification to my personal email address ) Not sure if this forum will let me post a link and I hope I'm not violating any rules by doing so ... but I found this to be SUPER helpful far as listing all the counterspells http://www.thesewall.com/guides/sorcery-complete-spellbook/ or if that link doesn't work do a google search for " thesewall" " guides " "the inveterate gamer" and "sorcery-complete-spellbook"
Did anyone figured out what triggers the dream with the Archmage? (the one where we see an *color* image of Archmage and the crown). I got it once when *the Archmage was looking for me* sleeping near the barracks but couldn't trigger it anymore later even when I had the same status. Also for some reason Libra did not appear outside the city and inside the bronze dome (effects of using the end-game rewind)? I'm on a NBAS save and thought the Archmage will comment more on Beacons. As far as I can see there is a minor dialogue change w.r.t. Beacons when I'm under the influence of the Crown but when I've got protection (potion, Jann, Flanker or Alizii) he doesn't mention Beacons at all :-/ Too bad Inkle doesn't publish Ink scripts for the game, I'm interested in the complete plot but it's getting hard to keep track which decisions influence which dialogue options...
The one time I got this it was because I alerted the archmage to my presence by not killing all the serpents in S3. I suspect you can get the dream in S4 by going to the crater just in front of Mampang but not killing the guard-bat there. Progress through and a troop of guards will show up, alerted by the bat. Confront them and some will run away, carrying word to the Archmage and alerting him. At this point I suspect we'll have that full color dream. Respectfully, Brian P.
Is it possible to go back to Analand with Aliizi in tow, as well as Jann and Flanker? There was a rumour that it was, but I haven't found a way. Incidentally, what animal spirit guides have you finished with, assuming you did not lose your spirit guide? My more virtuous player characters always end with either Ape or Gorilla and my evil player characters usually end with Jackal, but one of them turned into a Rat near the very end.
On sale for the first time ever! # This is the only one I have yet to play and I'm stoked to finally get a crack at it! At only $1.99 you cannot go wrong.
The Sorcery! series got really addictive as I started playing it over the past 8-9 months. Long overdue, but whatever, I have just uploaded a PDF of a guide I wrote for the entire series from part 1 to part 4 (Actually the guide is meant for myself during my future replays, but I rewrote it to be more presentable). Latest version (v1.1.0) of the guide is accessible via this link: https://www.docdroid.net/CtmQ7pr/inkle-sorcery-guide-v110.pdf Players who wanted a convenient reference without scouring through the forums may find this useful. I had yet to found a guide dedicated to Sorcery! 4, so I thought this is a plus point for sharing. I also suspect the screenshots of the College of Magic where I labelled each tower with their representative spell-name, will come in most handy......
You dont need to. Make sure the Goat elder tells the merrchant to treat you fairly, talk to her in her hut, and before you leave she will offer the spear.
Latest version of Inkle's Sorcery guide (All 4 games) is now accessible at: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=4094445&postcount=690 A number of corrections/additions had been made, notably a way to explore the Western College of Magic without Throben catching you, the condition where the market peddler will sell you magical artefacts at marked up prices, the condition for the old man at the Valignya's treasury to show up and give you another +2 maximum stamina boost, and exactly where the Spoiler PUR spell will be registered as "learnt" in the ending summary.
No, and I may not have any intention at the moment to update the guide for New Game+. That said, I did complete New Game+ a few times. If you have any questions about it feel free to ask me.
I don't know if anyone is still reading this thread; I checked in after a long absence because I like to revisit the games once in a while. If it would be helpful, I could create a short addendum to simplefrog's excellent guide covering the differences when playing New Game +.
Also, as a supplement to simplefrog's guide, bear this in mind about the prices at the elf caravan in Part 3. If you prefer to maximize your gold, just realize that you are paying a higher percentage of your total. Source: Sorcery! 3 Guide
That shared google doc is a more comprehensive guide compared to the Sorcery! 3 part I wrote. I used it occasionally. To add on to the Black Elves Caravan event, if you purchase at least 3 items the Hewing Axe will be free of charge: Just buy 3 items of your choice (EXCLUDING the Baklands scroll, which is not considered as an item purchased whether or not you return the scroll to Oolooh), then look for weapons and ask for the Hewing Axe's price. Oolooh will call you a good customer and said it would be free. Initially my intention was to write a simple walkthrough for all 4-parters compiled into a single document. As I started documenting Sorcery! 3 I realized that a simple walkthrough will not do Sorcery! 3 and Sorcery! 4 justice - These two games are far too non-linear. Which is why you saw my Sorcery! 3 coverage evolving into categorizing my walkthrough as various events, after which my Sorcery! 4 coverage evolved into a near-complete guide. As far as my experience of the New Game+ goes, besides the increased difficulty in combat and decreased initial resources, most of the event differences come from Sorcery! 1. Correct me if I am wrong, but as far as I remember there's only 1 additional new event for Sorcery! 2 and Sorcery! 3 each, and Sorcery! 4 was virtually the same. Someone could verify whether the following I found was true: - Certain opponents' stamina score increase by 2 for every New Game+ you progressed. E.g.: The flying fish had a total stamina of 8 in the first game. In New Game+ they will have a stamina of 10, followed by a stamina of 12 in New Game +2, followed by a stamina of 14 in New Game +3 etc.
