I think that certain items have uses earlier in the series and do nothing in 4. One item I have never figured out is the Giant's Tongue from S1. Maybe a potion ingredient in S3?
I only ever got the Giant's Tongue once, and I think it just counted as a ration. I remember looking in the Food section of my inventory and it just showed up as "1 Meal."
It's in the "Other Items" section of my inventory in a current game. I will swing by the Klattaman village--maybe needs to be cooked?
So how would you rank the Sorcery series? I'm still doing the 4th one but so far I would rank 3 > 4> 1 > 2
I'd probably say 4>1>2>3, but mostly just because rewinding on the same spaces over and over tainted my memory of the 3rd game.
3 > 4 > 2 > 1 1 is so short compared to the others. 3 has the most replay value, but it and 4 are neck and neck.
Sleeping with Rani Here's something new I found in S4 whilst playing a male character Spoiler its possible to sleep with Rani if yb'ran is your god even though she prefers women. During the conversation with her in the mess hall, yb'ran started talking to her and then changed me into a woman so that I could sleep with her Got to say this New game plus mode makes certain strange scenarios even stranger
I would add this: Spoiler In Sorcery 1, you can now cast TEL to avoid the fight with the bandits when leaving Cantopani. In Sorcery2, you can cast ZIP in at least 3 places (maybe more): 1. To get out of the jail at the south gate 2. To escape Vik's boat on the river 3. To go in the Gardens of Briar (already mentioned here) You can also cast ZEN several times in Sorcery 2, for example to go out of the sewers or at the temple of Courga.
I would rank the Sorcery series like this: 3 > 2 > 4 > 1 Part 1 was very good but too similar to the original book so/and too short. For the second place, I hesitated between 4 and 2, but in the end, I didn't enjoyed Mampang as I enjoyed Kharé. I didn't really like the inner college which becomes quickly boring and the fortress itself is not as interesting as the city of Kharé, from my point of view. Part 4 is still an excellent game though and certainly the most difficult of the whole series. Part 3 is the clear winner, it's a masterpiece and one of the best video game I ever played. For the series as a whole, I praise Inkle for what they did with Steve Jackson's original books, what they did is pure genius, it is a dazzling ode to the golden age of the gamebook era.
This scenario actually happens regardless of the gender of your player character, as long as Yb'ran is your god.
D'you mean Spoiler banging Ranii ? I'm pretty sure she's always Spoiler into the other gender , and the only way to even start the conversation is for Spoiler Yb'ran to take you over and get it started.
Nah, she always swings the other way, and before you have any chance to make her Spoiler see the light of Lesbianism/Straightness Yb'ran just swaps your parts.
Ok, I've finished 4 a few days ago and now taking a nice break from the series before hitting NG+ so I can re-enter without too much memory of my last path's I can confirm my favourite is 3 = 4>1>2. 3 and 4 are neck and neck to me, like 0.000001%. 3 is just amazing, the open world, the freedom, the epic snake battles, the time mechanics. 4 was just as amazing. The many ways to infiltrate mampang, the choices of previous games culminating into this one, the college I have a love/hate relationship, it's so annoying to traverse but yet I always wanted to see what shenanigans each tower held and boy was it worth it, when I didn't die lol. And the moment you face the archmage, perfection. 1; Was the shortest but I felt it gave me the most 'Wow' moments since it was the first game and my first ever gamebook, so it had a very better first impression to me. 2; Was very good, just cause it was my least favourite doesn't mean I didn't like it. It has many awesome moments ("Vik for first Nobel!") Only found finding all the spell lines pretty frustrating, it kind of tuckered me out and by the time I found them all I was sick and tired of Khare. Man, I've tried other gamebooks afterwards but Sorcery spoiled me. The movement from map directly instead of flicking virtual pages, the inventory, the rpg parts I wish I could find another gamebook with those elements. Is 80 day's just as good? It's that or wait for The Warlock from firetop mountain to release.
where do you find the Spoiler blonde hair needed for the Spoiler top spell? i know where i can cast it and all that, but idunno where to get the item
You can get a Blonde Wig in a couple places, including Spoiler the ruined inn and the Inner College tower with the goblin pretending to be Libra
what difference does it have if: Spoiler the archmage is aware/alerted of you from the moment you enter mampang? just curious if anyone tried
i cant tell if thats a serious ingame thing ive looked over or a joke ._.' Spoiler also isnt analander Black haired?
