I'm 99% that you have to choose to walk away/end conversation or whatever before you run out of options. When you try to leave she'll be like "ayy hole up" and give you the potion.
I've had the same problem. It seems like you have to kill a sight master and ask some very specific questions of her to get her to fork over the potion. You've got to get her to mention she's tortured by the sight masters, kill a sight master, and talk to her twice giving her a gold coin both times. Get it right and she'll fork over the potion of dissolution. Get it wrong and you'll never see her again, and be forced to either find some other way to win (there are at least three) or just ZED all the way back and start over. For your suicide needs I recommend the Sleepless Ram, who is a very quick. Being eaten alive by goblins in the next tower up is always good for a laugh too. Why yes, I've had to ZED all the way back to get the potion and I found it most frustrating. But then, I've already mentioned my lack of love for the rewind in this game repeatedly so I should shut up now. Inkle suggestion: Once ZEDded the character should have the option from the menu of deliberate suicide, in order to save time if it's necessary to redo. ... That is, unless it will encourage real-life people to think real-life suicide is a good idea in which case *please* forget I ever said anything. Respectfully, Brian P.
This isn't Sorcery 4 related, but it stems from me working my way through the series after buying S4 in advance. I was in the middle of playing Sorcery 2 on my first time rewind pass to get what I missed the first time, and tabbed out of the game in the middle of talking to Lorag and upon tabbing back in my game was rolled WAAAAY back to the middle of my first pass through the city. I had like 220 gold at Lorag and now I'm back at the festival of thieves with 110. Are the other Sorcery games this buggy? I think I'm going to uninstall these and walk away from the series for now.
Loving the game so far! Is it just me or do the interior maps seem slightly blurrier/pixelated compared to previous games? I'm on an iPad Air 2.
I been wondering. In combat has anyone ever used the same attack power as the enemy while not defending. I gotten close a couple a times but this has never happen to me.
Getting the potion from the old woman has been discussed several times in this thread, and I believe the key is asking no more than two questions after she gives you the stamina boost. However, I almost always have only one option, and never more than two. The one I always see is whether the Archmage has any enemies. The second one I sometimes see is about the hidden places in the city, but this seems to depend on what I have learned from other characters about the Inner College. FWIW I have approached her before or after killing a Sightmaster (the one in the Barracks counts), in different disguises (guard and monk, at least), and never gave her more than one coin on my first visit (if two visits were required because I hadn't killed a Sightmaster yet). I have never failed to get the potion. I believe I have always visited her early in the game. It's usually my second action once I've reached the inner city, my first being a visit to Spoiler the black tower in the Eastern College to get the most stamina possible. Meeting her early in the game also has the advantage of allowing you to rewind to outside the city without losing too much progress. For added measure, you can visit Spoiler the bronze dome directly before going to her and rewind to that point.
How'd you get 110 gold at the Festival? I'm not even sure that's possible at that point in the game. The reason I ask is if you accidentally rewound via Lorag. To answer your question, I've never heard anyone else have that bug, so it's not common at all.
Let's see, getting the potion involves 2 steps. First, you need to have killed a sightmaster and tell her. This should be easy enough and I don't see any other hidden variables or switches that would stop you from telling her. By the way, lying about killing a sightmaster won't work. When you tell her, you will receive the stamina boost and you can start asking questions. You can choose two dialogue options; after asking a third she will automatically end the conversation. Before that happens, choose the option "Thank her" (thus ending the conversation yourself) and you should always get the potion - independent of when you visit her, what disguise your wearing, whether you gave her a gold coin, etc. Alternatively, after getting the stamina boost, just say "Nod and leave", and you'll immediately receive the potion (but you won't be able to ask any questions). Hope that helps.
I have not heard of this before either. I would suggest reporting the bug by clicking on the cog in the upper right-hand corner and selecting "Send Feedback". Choose to attach files and the development team will get a snapshot of your saved game that might help them pinpont the problem.
FWIW the "normal, mortal woman" (or man) phrase is also in the closing sweep if you started with NBAS and refused Throben's curse.
I just tried this and didn't get the option to drop my sword. I choose not to drop the tooth, but in the next move I am forced to drop it anyway.
I don't remember exactly but I think I still had my legendary sword and I dropped it + the Analand sword. I will try it again in a next game (I want to try a NBAS + sun serpent). but keeping the tooth was not so useful anyway as I never had an opportunity to use it in s4 (no opponent seemed so impressive that I should use it).
Actually it's weird. Upon further inspection I was still in the second pass at going through Khare after meeting Lorag's ghost, but my items and gold were reset. I dunno. I deleted the entire game with the save. I think it's in my iCloud. I might try to restore it and see where that leaves me and I will send the save file to the developer if I can. As far as gold, it's not hard if you get the emeralds in S1 and onto them while being very money oriented in all dealings and always being on the lookout for opportunities to "scavenge" a location. I started S2 with like 52 gold and from there just whip everyone at Swindlestones and always be on the lookout for gold. I play kind of a morally ambiguous anti-hero who isn't above lying, cheating, and stealing in service of the greater good with an ever-present eagerness to clash swords.
One benefit to keeping the tooth is Spoiler being able to gain more stamina at the black tower in the Eastern College. Start with 30 (missing 1 bonus from S3), suppressed to 28 with the tooth, and you will be able to end S4 with 56 (after dropping or using the tooth before the end) . As for casting ZOB, the most satisfying situation for me is to Spoiler use it when you're in Naggamanteh's "pleasher" , although YOB will have the same outcome.
Hello, I'm very frustrated. I explored the entire map and I didn't find any holy water... I'm stuck with the vaults or the Throben Doors. Can someone help me please before I got mad? Thanky you Ackelloo
In addition to Raeheart's answer, which will help you at the Throben Doors but not the vaults: Spoiler 1. On the way to Mampang, approach the crack in the crater where the smoke rises and cast RAP to talk to the voices. Tell them you are the Analander when they ask. 2. In the tower of skeletons in the Eastern College, once you are able to access the altar (wait until the talking skeleton collapses), you can collect some dripping water and it is holy.
