Oh ho! I have just had a very interesting bit of dialog atop the ruined tower that sheds entirely new light -- heh -- on what happened in S3. Spoiler "These beacons destroyed the Baklands". "Indeed, they will," replies the watching creature calmly. "Slowly, they will remove the future from that place, and deliver it to my master, the Archmage." Hen nods. "He desires immortality. It cannot be achieved, but extreme longevity is a close second." So the Analander is NOT to blame for the destruction of the Baklands, and this fully explains why the Baklands are still destroyed regardless of whether you use the beacons or not. Spoiler They were always intended to destroy the Baklands, to drain their time and incraese the Archmage's life, the better for him to defeat the Anull-land when the time comes. Whether they are activated or not, left to themselves they will still ruin the land, leave it lost and forgotten. I feel a bit sorry for him; he is utilitarianism carried to its most extreme conclusion. Where he will do whatever is necessary to save the world from the promised doom, even if it means sacrificing half his soul and almost everyone in the Baklands. Respectfully, Brian P.
Yes, I found that during beta testing and included it in Spoiler Yb'ran's section of the guide in progress. Pretty bizarre!
Once we finish the S!4 guide, the plan is to incorporate my other one and add de first two, to create the ultimate document with enough content to kill an archmage. I'm already working on 'perfect' playthrough through all 4 parts. Mostly for academic purposes though, the beauty of this series is to find stuff for yourself.
Thing in the field outside the monastery What is the Spoiler clay god idol in the field ? Help me it is driving me nuts Spoiler I prayed to it once and lost my god . I probably shouldn't be but I still have Spoiler a spirit animal the whale .
Okay, I've run into a problem on my no-magic run in S4. I'm trying to use the potion of dissolution. Spoiler I was able to make my way into the towers of NAP and YIZ in the eastern college. I opened the bottle of dissolution for both. Next made my way to the tower of stupidity (with the two-headed creature) and opened the bottle there. That's the three counters I need. I wasn't able to get back from the tower of stupidity and was killed by the skunkbears. ZED brought me back. Went directly up to the Samaritans in their room and was carried direcly to the archmage's loft. Drank the potion. It did nothing, and I wound up back in a cell. What went wrong? Did I open the bottle of dissolution in the wrong place of the tower? Did ZED spoil the potion? Or is the game simply wired to auto-fail you if you bypass the doors? Respectfully, Brian P.
Does anyone know what the Spoiler blood candle, golden egg, and compass you can buy from the shop is used for?
Spoiler The egg is probably nothing, the blood candle can be used as a light (but it's somewhat evil, you should try it in the dark tower), and the compass probably does the same thing as the S!2 and S!3 compasses, serving as a rough guide sometimes.
I'm not sure that the tower Spoiler with the arguing creature is the one you're looking for. There's another tower in Spoiler the Western college where you giggle to yourself and seem to become quite stupid. I'd always assumed that this tower was the DIM one.
Those options don't appear to me... do I need to do something in the previous sorcery games? I couldn't figure any romance options in the previous games.
Hey so i was a foller of ybran at the start if sorcery 4, does he have any benefits? I had a dream sequence where i went back to sorcery 1, and he annoyed the goddess so i think i missed out, and i had lost him in the wheat field in manpamg. I havent finished the game yet but im not afraid of spoilera but does he have any good uses there or is it better to use another god or simply my spirit animal?
He definitely has benefits, which are discussed earlier in this thread. What you miss out on from Libra is Spoiler a golden hair to cast TOP with, but only if you went to Daddu-Ley in S1. There are places in S4 where you can find a blonde wig in any case. Plus, TOP isn't necessary, it's just an option in a few places (one of which will kill you!)
I replied to you earlier in the thread. I think what you say directly before confronting the Archmage might be the key. The dream flamewing described is when you hear a "rich voice" and get the opportunity to say "Flanker?" in response.
A tower cheat For those having trouble figuring out which tower goes with which spell, here's a sort of cheat. Spoiler When you are at a tower, tap the cog symbol to send feedback to Inkle and chose "attach files". Your email app will open up, and the body of the new email will contain auto-generated text. At the top of the auto-generated text will be a location name, and in the colleges, the location name will have the tower named by spell. After you see the spell name, close the email and don't send it -- don't bombard Inkle with meaningless feedback
So I'm looking through ways to maximize stamina, and in the process looked at how the Spoiler TAR tower decides to give you stamina increases. This is nothing new (Kaboobie or someone else already figured out the optimal way), but for those interested, here's how it goes: Spoiler Everytime you do an action (Wait, Close my eyes, or Tug free), the game will alternate between giving you +2 max stamina, or giving you +1 skill. After this effect, if your stamina is 35 or higher, you die. If you tug free 3 times (doesn't have to be in a row), you break free. If you wait 3 times (doesn't have to be in a row), you die. You can close your eyes once, then the option disappears. So, you can (at most): - close your eyes once - wait 2 times - tug free 2 times in any order, then tug free again to escape. That's six actions in total you CAN do. Because of the 35-stamina check, you may have to do less actions before tugging free the last time: - 33+ stamina: Can't do anything, you will die after the first action. - 31-32 stamina: Do 3 actions in total (so 3x tug free) - +2 stamina and +2 skill - 29-30 stamina: Do 5 actions in total (of which 3 are 'tug free') - +4 stamina and +3 skill - 28 or less: Do 6 actions in total (the maximum) - +6 stamina and +3 skill Hope this helps anyone going for maximum stats.
I credit flamewing for telling me how to get the full +6. I had only achieved +4 prior. In most of the cloud saves I work from, I start with 28 (30 - 2 for the crystal tooth) because Spoiler I want to avoid destroying Kariamma .
It's interesting in deciding how to play 'perfectly' (although defining a perfect playthrough in and of itself is ambiguous), because we now have 1 max stamina in the previous games we can skip. If NBAS is part of your playthrough, skipping the Spoiler Nightshade soup is an obvious choice, but otherwise, there's alot of interesting alternatives like Spoiler the klattaman village (which takes a considerate amount of time and planning to reach) , or Spoiler being able to rewind once in Khare . This, in addition to skipping over certain magical items in the earlier 3 games because you can get them in S!4 anyway, makes for an interesting puzzle: How much can you skip or ignore throughout all 4 games while still getting the best ending?
ok so i have been thinking and i get get this out of my head Spoiler the ending where you take the crown back with the minimite. its questions never left my mind. seriously why didn't the eagles help us through out the quest, why didn't they fly us close to khare or even the backlands, was our quest really to take back the crown? or was it simply something else. Spoiler ok here is my first point , let's take a look at the crown itself as described by the archmage, it contains materials needed to cast spells of control and illusion like bones and other things, 3 items to be exact(forgot what the other 2 were) but....that is it...what makes it so important and strong, i mean we don't have any history about it saying that it was created by the gods or forged by a powerful sorcerer, in fact we can't be sure if it was really stolen or simply the archmage owned it since 4 ever (not through my gameplay at least might have forgotten since it was a long period of time between the games). adding to that the items the crown is made out of are not that hard to come by, i mean you can get them slaying goblins and searching haystacks, you can even create a sun jewel using a secret spell back in part 3, couldn't they just create another powerful crown? Spoiler ok now here is my final point, having the crown or not the archmage says the same thing, he was forced to do everything so he can survive and feed his people, he also mentioned that we are an assassin sent to kill him and the crown is not our goal, what if that was true, what if the analander was under the influence of the spell and we the players are the spell, controlling every action, every decision and our goal was to slay the mage or take the crown which will force him to immediately die from old age. so many questions Spoiler but if that was true then why libra the goddess of justice would be aiding us?, if she is the goddess of justice then wouldn't she take side with the archmage trying to keep his people alive?. something is not right at all
