Note there is a bug on some Android platforms (and possibly elsewhere?) where the Cast button doesn't appear correctly and so you get stuck. If that's the issue please report via the Cog button!
In addition to flamewing's reply above, which is the more accessible way, there is one god who will Spoiler offer to remove the curse after you defeat the Archmage. Spoiler It is Yb'ran from Sorcery! 3.
I play as a male character and Spoiler in the conversation right before the archmage I could choose the option "I love you, Flanker.". So it ist not depending on the sex of the character.
I'm sure this must have been answered before, but I can't find it in the thread, so: how do I Spoiler enter the Throben Doors after succesfully countering the three spells? I tried summoning a Giant and sending him in there, which makes him teleport to the bottom of the stair. If I go in myself, I simply die. I was thinking that RES might work, but I don't want to risk my Holy Water in case it doesn't work.
There is a fourth spell, the same one Throben cast on himself and on you, and Spoiler RES will counter it. When you touch the doors afterward, Spoiler it will look as if you are about to die, but you will gain +4 stamina and pass through them.
I wouldn't worry about risking your holy water. Spoiler Have a look around you at the Doors, and you'll see a pack. It has Holy Water, Fire Water and a Blimberry potion. It respawns every time you hit the reZed button.
One thing to note. Spoiler When you cast RES, you will be given the choice to either drink the Holy Water or pour it on the door. Either will work, but drinking gets you a bigger STAM boost.
Spoiler Is there anything you can do with a stamina boost in there? Fight Flanker I guess but there are far easier ways. Must admit, I was very surprised that there was no final battle of any sort.
Thanks! Now, someone here mentioned that you can use the Spoiler Magic Dissolution potion on Flanker, presumably to free him of the Archmage's hold. But I just can't figure out how to do that. The only options I get are dialogue, swordfight or casting a spell, and none of the spells seem to affect him. Am I missing something?
If you have the potion, and have put spells in it, you should get the option to Spoiler give it to Flanker . But you can also cast the same three spells in succession. There are posts earlier in the thread that will tell you what spells you need.
A few questions: Is there a way to get the key Spoiler to free Jann without either killing Jann or using the ZED-spell? The summary says that I've found Spoiler 4 hidden spells. I remember three of them: TOP, TAR (Is there a place where I can cast it?), PUR. What was the fourth spell? Is it SOB? And much more important --> What is the fifth spell? Has someone found the grave of the invisible girl? Where is the mess hall?
Yeah I agree, it was a bit disappointing. The fight against Spoiler flanker can be tough especially the second time as you Spoiler lose your best weapons . After all the talk about counter spells I was hoping for a big magical battle Spoiler kind of like with bria in S3
This has been answered a few times. Spoiler Yb'ran can free you from the cell without having to kill Jann, but you will still die shortly thereafter. I believe the five spells to be Spoiler SSS, TOP, ZOB, SOB, and PUR. Not all of them need to be cast in S4 to qualify, they just need to have been added to your spell book (except Spoiler PUR ). Not to my knowledge. If someone has, please post! To the left of the stairs that lead to the Throben Doors.
The hidden spells are: Spoiler TOP, PUR, SOB, ZOB and SSS I don't think anybody here has found the grave of the invisible girl. None of us testers found it during testing. The mess hall is off the courtyard at the bottom of the steps to the Throben Doors. EDIT: Kaboobie beat me to it.
I'm having some trouble reaching the ZED tower. I figure it's either the Spoiler Red-topped or the yellow-topped large tower in the far end of the East College. But it seems the only way to get there is through the tower with the Spoiler bloodthirsty goblins. I used GOD on them, but it faded before I could open the door. Do I need a key or is there a better spell to use?
There is a spell that counters GOB. Keep trying with the spells that you are able to cast. It's also possible to approach the ZED tower from the other side.
I'd love to "keep trying", but knowing that some of the spells will end in permadeath or stamina loss kinda discourages me. I've already finished the game and now am trying to get a curse-free ending, but the no-rewind thing just makes me want to give up. Having to play through the same stuff dozens of times is lame.
