I still don't get it, should I completely ignore cultists in current time and just shine beacon on that place for perfect walktrough ?
I don't think you can. Spoiler Visit the Black Elf Caravan and make plenty of noise about your quest to kill the serpents. Sooner or later they'll turn on you. Cultists? You mean the seven spirits (the chanting ones)? No, you don't have to ignore them; in fact meeting them is among the more beneficial encounters in the game. By the way, speaking of 'perfect' walkthroughs, my best run was 9 days; killing all serpents, 25 max stamina (1 below maximum, because I timetravelled once in S!2), meeting flanker, and obtaining every item except for fire water (which I don't believe is anywhere in this game), but otherwise rushing through most of the content. Has anyone been able to reach 8 days (while still obtaining everything)?
Dream Vision There is a dream vision in the game of pouring Holy Water on a grave site (RES spell I assume) but when I try that at the grave site in the mountains nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?
Two bits of interest: 1) Found an alternate way to kill the sun serpent. Spoiler Throw the orb into the whirlpool in the pit, just north of fishtail cave. It'll annihilate both orb and serpent while remaining completely undamaged. Whatever that thing is, it's nasty . 2) If you don't care about killing any of the serpents, it is possible to make it all the way across the baklands in 3 days. Perhaps if I hadn't stopped to rest, I could have done it in two. SPEED RUN: GO! Spoiler NIGHT 1: 1) Encounter death hawks and eagle. Rest at top of cliff. DAY 1: 2) Down cliff, eat moss. Strike out southeast along the road. NOT STRICTLY NECESSARY: Encounter tree. 3) Go east from there, then north to fishtail cave and meet Shadrack. Take the galehorn. 4) South, then east. NOT STRICTLY NECESSARY: Golem encounter and fresh fruit. 5) East to the hut, meet .. Briana? Is that her name? Get the green ring from her. 6) Down chimney rock. We're in the steppes. 7) It is now night. Rest. NIGHT 2: 8) Ambushed by the local tribe in the night. Roll left to escape the club, then JAK to frighten them away. DAY 2: 9) NE to the pole, eat the moss there, meet the priest, see him murdered by a giant bird, take the medallion he left behind. 10) NOT STRICTLY NECESSARY: SE to temple and release the priest buried alive in the crypt there. Wasting no further time, due east. 11) Encounter the Time Serpent in his guise of seven cloaked figures. Approach them, tell me your chant, cast MAG to protect against it, recite chant, protected for a few seconds, cast JIG to confuse the now-manifested Time Serpent, escape. 12) East from here to the Steppe Beacon. DOP the door, LAW to control the wolfhound inside and drive it out. 13) To the top of the beacon. DOC to cure the yellow plague I caught from the priest. It is now night. Rest. DAY 3: 14) Cast ZIP to teleport to the top of the mountain range to the east, jump down, spread my arms and glide down to the lake below, landing alive in the water just SW of the Time Serpent isle. NIT-PICKER'S NOTE: Actually, at terminal velocity the surface of the lake is as hard as concrete. Your character should not have survived the fall even if it was into water. 15) Swim east from there to the statues. Cast ZEN to float out of the water next to the statues. 16) Walk SE with all possible speed up the pass, to Mampang. MISSION COMPLETE. The game says it is unlikely any messengers other than the serpents got through faster than us, so our objective now is to RACE the serpents from Mampang rather than defeat them. Combat encounters : 0 . Prayers used: 0 All provisions lost in water. Respectfully, Brian P.
Spoiler You pour the water down the pipe. Then nothing happens. Click "Turn away". Then you will get grabbed by a skeleton arm. Well.. you will see Pendell: What a dramatic run. Here you can save time: Walking to the cliff instead of flying on the eagle is actually faster (!). Push forward, never rest. I think it can be done in 2 days.
I've added several new item locations to the google document, as well as all the counterspells (that I know of). Feedback and new locations are always appreciated: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1iFhkEHUfEtyuj5YtD7hcguSaUvCMrRgbmvNTkFugMUw/edit?usp=sharing
Thanks for your work Cheesy. Addition: Spoiler Green ring: Current time. Walking towards Brias hut there is a tombstone. It is possible to cast RES (requires holy water). A skeleton will appear (= Bria). After some talking (she was in love with the Archmage) she will collapse. You can then pick up her green ring.
You can absolutely talk to the cultists at the stone circle and kill the serpent of time. They are NOT mutually exclusive.

Spoiler I cannot find the Sun Serpent. After digging through these forums, I discovered that he's trapped in the orb of the sorceress in the hill. Great! I'll just go get that and... game won't let me go back into her hut. Wonderful. I've been making laps around that dumb hut for an amount of time I'd rather not discuss and I'm a little annoyed. Since I missed the orb the first time I talked to her, can I just not kill the Sun Serpent now? luckystrikeguy Well-Known Member Sep 18, 2013 615 7 18 #132 luckystrikeguy, Apr 26, 2015 This seems pretty intense on my hardware for being a gamebook. Drains my battery faster than hearthstone. Anybody else having this happen? Jbayan Member Apr 26, 2015 8 0 0 #133 Jbayan, Apr 26, 2015 Spoiler Sadly yes, You can't return to many locations in these games once you've visited (with the exception of 2 when you go back in time multiple times) But you can't visit fenestra again, you have to counter her HUF spell with either NIF or WAL and she'll continue talking to you. Jbayan Member Apr 26, 2015 8 0 0 #134 Jbayan, Apr 26, 2015 Spoiler Thats how I did it because if you don't and you approach the time serpent, the game will say you died last week, and what you might be confused about is that after you talk to them it will allow you to get into the tower next to them, you don't need that you can shine the light below the bridge onto that tower and it will allow you to get in there and activate that beacon BUT what I haven't tried is after an encounter with the cultists shine all the beacons on the time serpent, I don't know if that will still work or not. Cheezzhead Well-Known Member Apr 7, 2015 49 0 6 #135 Cheezzhead, Apr 26, 2015 It will. Spoiler Likewise, the 'you died last week' ending also happens if you didn't meet the seven spirits (the cultists). Their appearance is completely unrelated to the eventual encounter with the Time Serpent imaloony Member Apr 26, 2015 5 0 0 #136 imaloony, Apr 26, 2015 Wow, that seems like a pretty major flaw in the game design that Spoiler you can so easily miss one of the seven... Whelp, whatever, guess I got to eat that failure and move on. Good think I've got all my other characters who are pretty damn strong. Cheezzhead Well-Known Member Apr 7, 2015 49 0 6 #137 Cheezzhead, Apr 26, 2015 Spoiler Leaving the sun serpent behind at Fenestra does not count as missing it, at least not in the books. imaloony Member Apr 26, 2015 5 0 0 #138 imaloony, Apr 26, 2015 I also found a weird bug. Spoiler While I was searching for the Sun Serpent, I wandered into the "Peace" God's domain in the NW of the map in the past. We did the whole dance, I didn't kill the lady, blah blah. I rewound time and found that neat feature where the god won't let you change that choice, however, after he spoke to me about this and told me about my fate on the island of the Time Serpent, a marker for the Time Serpent appeared... despite the fact that I had already killed it. Jbayan Member Apr 26, 2015 8 0 0 #139 Jbayan, Apr 26, 2015 Spoiler I completely ignored them and moved on without approaching them and was still able to kill the time serpent just by shining the beams on him Playing my 3rd playthrough right now going for my best time and 100% completion Jbayan Member Apr 26, 2015 8 0 0 #140 Jbayan, Apr 26, 2015 I think the only way to kill the time serpent is the following and no other way: Spoiler DO NOT TALK TO THE CULTISTS OR IT BECOMES IMPOSSIBLE, you can kill them but only if you completely ignore the cultists, you have to shine 3 beacons on the island which he is one which will paralyze him enough for you to simply slit his throat, I'm almost positive thats the only way to kill him and that the cultists do tie into the possibility of being able to do that (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
