Keep in mind the app is small but first thing after not selecting ok for Facebook or twitter it starts a long download of game data. So I opted to wait till tomorrow when I'm on the super fast Internet at work to try the game. Gotta let GTA:VC download first
I see that the Language is English, but sure looks like Japanese only.. Very misleading if you bought it for $28,- and it's Japanese only.. I would be pissed
Unfortunately it's Japanese only in-game. The strange part is, the opening story sequence is all in English. Just from poking around at the menus and controls (which I can't read), I can tell the game would be awesome. I hope someday they release it fully in English.
Downloading the data seems super slow on my iPhone. I'm on a blazing fast connection right now too. I'm not sure I'll even get the content part downloaded to start the actual game. Overall, thus far... a waste of time. I'll give it another 30min and then I guess I'll just delete it if it doesn't finish. Edit: I ended up letting it run. It took an hour but at least it finished. Setting up a party was pretty easy but beyond that it's trial and error (mostly error) trying to figure out what does what in the game. I even crashed the game trying to cancel out of the menu to create a new character. Doah. The intro is nice though. I hope this gets updated with english in the story and menus... as it is, there is a sprinkling of english. Still, I think I can figure it out with enough guess work. Gameplay wise, it's pretty slick for an action party based 2D platforming rpg.
Wow, so this is what you get for a $30 app. A two step downloading process, the second step which takes like 5 years, an app all in Japanese, and buttons that go to inapp screens. All I have to say is, wtf, this is the most messed up thing that I have ever downloaded, especially for $30. I would have been totally pissed if I had paid that much in cash for this app. I am almost thinking of asking Apple to give me a refund of my time and energy spent downloading this app. Wowzers, can't believe this thing is on the US app store. Maybe it can be in Japan, but heck, it still would be a ripoff for $30.

No, Yes, and Yes. The game may get updated. But as it is there is some decent classic gaming to be had here. You just may have to consult a guide to make much sense of it. The intro is in English as is the in game store items and character names.
An easier way to enjoy this game, is pack your bags and move to Tokyo for a while, learn some Japanese, and enjoy sushi and cosplay everyday. And then you will feel glad that you got a $30 app for fffrrrrrreeeeeee!!!
