But the lite will be just the first few levels, and alot of people say that the game is way to easy in the first few levels.
Im quite enjoying soosiz, but the whole experience is a bit plain. The graphics are pretty dull and a lot of the gameplay is old school platforming, with only a bit of variation. It is fun however and the controls are bang on, but rolando 2 is still by far the best platformer on iphone
Is there a secret to getting past this guy? Those damn squid things that come off him get me nearly every time. Nasty nasty level this....
If you're talking about what I think you're talking about... I just stayed on the round platform in the middle. After jumping on the boss, you can quickly run around to the other side of the platform to cause the squids to crash and disappear. I think the squids in general are the most annoying enemies in the game, lol.
A lite version is in the works. Shouldn't take too long to get it ready. What Mr Crazy said about the difficulty is what we are working on now. We will most probably take the first few levels and adjust them slightly. But, while it's easy to make them more challenging, it's even easier to make them too difficult. Optimally, we would like to give the players some idea about how the difficulty ramps up, but still make it easy enough to not drive the casual players away. Not an easy task, but let's see what we come up with.
Why don't you take level one from the first world, level 2 from the second world, level 3 from the third world, etc. Or mix it up some way like that, so you just can put some levels together to show difficulty and show the diversity of the worlds. I think the other thing with World One is it's not that interesting. Personally, I though the mushroom and Space world rocks. Pretty much hating the swimming world and the squids. The Flower world was Ok. Not past these damn squids yet to see the rest.
there is a bug in underwaterworld level 1 where you can go right at the beginning of the level where the pink heart guy is. on the big "planet" left of this guy where many sea urchins are: you fall down of that part where you can't come back to the level and you are going to spawn at the same place. if you get to that that place with 5 lives, you will die! I am sorry for my bad english I have fun with that game(total time playing: 10h:21min) and i want soosiz 2 Is the music coming randomly? =O, do some epic battle thrilling music in boss fightes and more variation...thx =) (For that I would also pay more)
Soosiz is finally being featured by Apple, under "What's Hot" Also, I have another theory as to why the game isn't selling. I was listening to the TA podcast and people were having a hard time pronouncing the name. Which reminded me of one of the reasons people didn't initially watch The Shawshank Redemption when it came out, it was a difficult name to remember or pronounce. It's not something that immediately sticks in your mind. Same with Soosiz. It might seem silly that the title of a game could affect sales like that, but I think it's quite possible.
We we really don't know how well the game is selling. It's not in the top 100, BUT no games that were released in Oct are in the top 100, so it might take a while for whatever algorithm that Apple uses to really push an app up to the top. I still think it's the fact there is not a lite version though
1. A game can get ranked within 24 hours. it doesn't take that long. 2. Plenty of games get popular without being lite Soosiz is now featured on "What's Hot" so hopefully they'll see a boost. arn
I was not saying that games can't get ranked quickly, it's just not one game in the top 100 was released recently when I looked tonight. Soosiz was ranked until a day or two ago. Hopefully, they will get some traction with being featured.
yes, the squids are definitely the most annoying, at least until World 6, as i only just made it past "Yikes!". Thanks for the tip, i had assumed the longer platform next to the round one was better but as it turns out i would have been stuck there forever
so i put off buying this cause i bought 2 other games at $2 and a week later it was $1.. so i waited.. and waited.. and eventually i researched more and more and this game seemed to have a great impact upon people. it is now $3.99 AUD.. i cracked.. bought it.. played it for 15 minutes.. and am very happy with it.. there are LOTS of stages and the replay value, getting GOLD for each level .. makes it all the worth while.. grrrr kicking myself for not buying it while it was on sale
Adjustments are always good, but as a long-time platform gamer I think it's pretty much in the sweet spot right now. The final boss was a bit too easy, and I don't care much for the try-and-fail three-button sequence in the final level, but otherwise it's great. I always found the Mario games to have a few levels that almost exceed my frustration-threshold, mainly because it's out of nowhere and not a gradual change (good example is the final airplane level in the original Gameboy Super Mario). But Soosiz has been great so far. I'd also agree with the naming. A good name is very important, and Soosiz just doesn't sound appealing, plus I always kept forgetting where to put the 'z'. For someone who might not be a platform fan, hearing about soosiz, searching with the wrong term and then giving up can be the difference between a customer and, uh, a non-customer.
