It's unlikely that we would release the game on other platforms any time soon. If the game takes off really well on the iphone, though, anything is possible. It might work well on PSP.

What is 'Soosiz'? It is a... ehm... Let's just leave it a mystery for now. We don't want to spoil the fun. :p

The game has a story, kind of. Nothing major though.

No OpenFeint/Plus+ yet. We are considering about integrating one of them, but will have to think about how much value it would add.

Yeah! Don't you want the monies Apple?! :D We are starting to lose our patience as well, but there is nothing we can do to speed it up at the moment. It should appear soon.

Thanks! We appreciate the offer. :)

Thanks for the info. Plus+ would make it a lot more popular/well-known.

And does this have anything to do with anything?

Ah, it didn't have a download link. I don't know if it is online anymore, but google might turn something up.

It seems that only a handful of applications were approved over the weekend. Hopefully they will pick up the pace again today. Unless there is a problem, we would expect the game hit the store in the next couple of days.

Here is a little something for those of you who still have the patience to follow this thread: :)

OMG I assume that's a bonus level as it looks well fun.

More excited about this than any other game, ELIMINATE, you name it. :)

That's a great bonus stage! Only thing I don't like about it is that after a while the screen stops scrolling automatically and you find yourself making a blind leap into the next section of the level, which is offscreen. How is the player to know they might overshoot or undershoot their next jump to that small platform, or if there's gonna be an enemy there? Not really fair to players.

i 100% agree with arta. i thought the exact same thing when i was watching the video. i guess when you design the game you can make blind leaps, but for the rest of us that's unacceptable.

It is indeed a bonus level. :) Knowing where to go is not a major problem in this level. There is the occasional leap of faith, but it's constructed so that it's not too unfair to the player.

I guess it was only a matter of time before someone found it. ;)

Just a small word of warning about that game. It was constructed in under two weeks for a competition with very specific rules, which is why the graphics and sounds are so strange. It won the competition but was never meant to be distributed outside of it. Apparently, someone found the game interesting enough to do it anyway.

Actually, now that we are talking about "leaps of faith", it might be worth mentioning that the original Soosiz was full of them and the levels were extremely difficult. The game mechanics make it almost too easy to design such levels. We have paid a lot of attention to avoid this in the new game, always trying to guide the player to the right direction with some slight hints. This doesn't apply only to the bonus level shown in the video but the entire game as a whole.

Me too it would be great if this became a hit like Rolando or Fieldrunners. Just has to get in the top 100.

Have you playtested this among people with you who aren't devs, to see that it handles well, don't get confused etc? A lot of games run into problems on release cause they weren't tested.

In the windows version, Touch Foo, you have an arrow that points you where to go, but then randomly starts attacking you? lol, i don't really get why it attacks you, and i keep getting killed by it (i've only made it to level 4...). maybe you could add an arrow to suggest a path to the objective? Or is one of the aspects of the game to have to search around for it?

I did warn you, didn't I? ;) The arrow attacks you because of one of the rules of the competition. It was something like: "the game must contain a friend that will turn into a foe".

We considered implementing a similar arrow (without the attacking part of course :p), but instead added the ability to zoom out the view and show the arrows only when zoomed out. The zooming option is disabled in the bonus level shown in the latest video but available in most of the other levels.

Yes, it's been tested by quite a lot of people. We've just handed them the game without any instructions and tweaked it based on any problems they encounter. Getting the tutorial etc just right was not an easy task but I think we managed to do a pretty good job.

Not sure what is up at Apple, only a few apps coming out now. We are just hoping that Soosiz is not heading for rejection. Not that we can think of any reason why it would be, but it's taking quite a long time.
