Will be interesting to see what they will be like. The 3G touch had a place for a camera inside but it never made it to the final product so im wondering will the touches still look the same but have camera, hi res screen etc or will they make them identical to the new iphone.
I'm guessing it'll have 1 camera on the back that takes pictures and records video, plus a mic back there. It would look like the iPhone but without the camera and mic on the front and a mic on the back to record sound with the video.
As many other people have mentioned, the camera is the selling point for me. if the 4th gen iPod touch has a camera, i'll definitely upgrade. if it doesn't, I'll keep my old 8gb 2nd gen.
I really hope its an iPhone 4 in terms of looks because I was gonna get a 32GB touch and iPhone 4 just looks epic.
I'll probably wait until early 2011, if there is no verizon iphone by then, I'll probably upgrade from my 2nd gen.
Soldier Knows Best on youtube had a video about the leaked ipod touch... It had a front facing camera, if so I might upgrade this year... *cough cough* multitasking *cough cough*
I personally think that is a load of crap. Apple has all along kept the iPod Touch behind the curve to keep the iPhone appealing. Now you are saying that they are going to throw all of this out the window and make the iPod Touch equal? Please.
I feel exactly the same. Up to this point, the ipod touches have kept up with the iphone in performance upgrades but don't have as many features. I really hope they have a caera of some sort and a 5mp that shoots video in hd with imovie? That would be truly amazing and I would undoubtedly upgrade.
I just hope it has a good speaker on it. They have all this glorious tech to make screens better than a human can see and even tell which way te device is facing, but the second I try to play music with even the tiniest hint of bass it has a hidious tinny noise!
I barely use my cellphone, so i don't really want an iphone. But i know, you must be speaking in general
Not that general, since I don't want an iPhone either. Why spend all that money per month when I can spend... nothing and have nearly all of the features? I've got a separate phone, it's dead cheap, works really well and the battery life makes the iPhone's look pathetic.
