Is there any word on if the PS4 is going to use a similar approach to the pay for online as MS is using with the X1? I.e. only one account needed for all on the console to play online ("Home Gold")? If they aren't that is pretty much a deal killer for me. So I hope they are. One PS+ per console (or perhaps one PS+ for an account and any sub accounts - so my kids would be covered by my PS+).
I read on Facebook it would work that way (and that Sony announced it first and MS are "copying"), but... y'know... Facebook. Might be completely false.
Apparently true: https://twitter.com/yosp/status/344369977438126080 Was answered on 11th of June. Not commenting on the who copied whom, though. I don't know what happened behind the scenes when and I don't really care.
Loved Housemarque's Super Stardust HD for pure arcade, looks like they're taking on the Defender concept this time around.
I love my gaming and I preordered a PS4 the day after the E3 reveals. But now it's less than 3 weeks away (uk) I'm close to cancelling my day 1 preorder. The console is cool, without a doubt and there's no way I'd buy an Xbone as I refuse to be forced to have a kinect. But.. The PS4 game line up is depressing I loathe fps games like CoD,BF,Killzone,Halo etc but most of the games seem to be shooters. I love role playing games (like Ultima, Morrowind, Skyrim, Sacred, Risen) and also love open world sandbox games (like Just Cause 2, GTA, Mercenaries) but there's nothing like this in the line up. I guess AC IV would be close but after playing AC 1-2 on my 360 and being bored very quickly with them, I expect the same of IV. So I think sadly I'll be cancelling my PS4 next week and getting one next Xmas when there is a decent game or two.
Second Son is the only open world game I'm aware of close on the radar, I think that's due early Feburary. I enjoyed the inFamous series so timing is quite good as that's about when I'll be getting my PS4. I would love for Fallout 4 to drop early next year but nothing official has been announced bar some very sketchy detail rumours. I'm a bit of a shooter fan as well as being into my indies, RPG's and open world games, so I'm pretty sorted.
Yeah, I've got a huge stack of PS3 games here I don't want to part with. I've already sold 50 Xbox 360 games in preparation for the PS4, I'd rather not butcher my library any further. I'm going with Assassin's Creed IV and Battlefield 4 at launch. I was starting to tire of AC ever since the second game blew me away, but IV is such a huge departure it might as well be called something else. There are a good number of reviews out there claiming it's at least equal to the best of the series so far, if not better. Battlefield has me a little concerned, due to the seemingly huge number of problems on PC, but maybe they were easier to iron out on a console. There definitely won't be any driver problems, since all PS4 consoles use the same ones, and that was a huge issue on PC. The rest just needs patching quickly, and I assume they're already working on it. Multiplayer should keep me busy for a good couple of months, I just hope it's closer to BFBC2 and not the mess that BF3 was. Something about BFBC2 took it above the level of plain' old FPS. It turned into a tactical team game, almost entering RTS territory. That's what makes it rise far, far above Call of Duty for me, which is still all about looking out for yourself and yourself only. You can do that crap in single player games, if I'm online I want to be talking strategy. Looking forward to Watch Dogs and InFamous next year, and even Diablo 3, which looks like it stands a good chance of being the definitive version.
Maybe I should consider trading in a bunch of my 360 and PS3 stuff, keep just the essentials, and pick up a PS4. I really want the streaming features. I like that if you have the playstation eye you can overlay your image on a live game stream, like I see the better twitch streams doing. Definitely more enjoyable to see the person playing the game, not just the game and their disembodied voice. But the PS4 needs more Spelunky. That's the main thing I'd want to stream right now. Also, that overlay, essentially that's a $60 extra. I guess that's not too terrible.
According to the Suckerpunch Twitter account the popular February date being reported for release is wrong and they will announce the true release date tonight/tomorrow. An Italian site also listed a PS4 Second Son bundle.
So Infamous: Second Son has got a release date of 21/3/2014...so there is going to be a whole lot of PS4 purchases on that day Also, Uncharted 4 has been revealed for PS4...reading some comments, was I the only person who wasn't really suprised by that? It's such a large franchise, why wouldn't Sony want to profit off of it again?
