Probably not, if it got hacked AGAIN when they were about to finish tidying things up. I wouldn't blame it on Sony, but instead the people that hacked the network.
I am not mad at Sony but anything I had pre-ordered that is available for the Xbox as well, I have switched over.
And inFamous 2, Resistance 3, The Last Guardian, Twisted Metal, Motorstorm: Apocalypse, Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One, ... They didn't get hacked again, SOE (in charge of mmo's and such) got hacked and they got peoples info and CC from way back in 2007. These were the same people though.
Turns out the hacker struck at the same time as Sony was fighting a DDoS attack from Anonymous. They say they found a file with their name and motto left on their servers. They can't say for sure it was them who hacked into the network, but it sure provided good (and suspiciously coincidental) cover for whoever did. Apparently data had been moved around while they fended off the DDoS and that brought up certain weaknesses. If this is true then Anon are left looking like total freakin' assholes. Free speech is one thing but inadvertedly letting out free CC details just isn't part of the deal.
It's not like Anon. did it on purpose though. The hackers took the opportunity to hack in and take information.
Maybe not, or maybe the person planning the hacking helped to round up the troops needed for the DDoS in the first place. It just goes to show that whatever Anon's intentions, their actions are dangerous and irresponsible.
Anon. was just an annoyance, unless that was a distraction for the true attack from them. But I honestly don't think they had bad intentions for the users, considering they're other attacks. They don't hurt users, they only hurt the companies. I doubt they took the info, someone else had to have done it. Edit: You know, if Anon. weakened the system while the true hackers came in and took info, they outta be helping Sony find out who these people are and take them down!
"Sony has announced some details of the free content you will be eligible for when PSN comes back online. Although it was still unable to provide specifics, PSN users will be given the opportunity to select two PS3 games from a list of five, as well as offering PSP users the opportunity to choose two games from a list of four. The list of games available will be revealed “very soon.” Sony says that it is continuing to work around the clock to have some PlayStation Network and Qriocity services restored and will provide you with specific details shortly." This officially makes it better than the "present" Microsoft gave us when Live messed up
I so called that they would do this! I bet Fat Princess, Super Stardust, Flower, etc. will be choices too!
I wouldn't mind them giving FattyP out, I already have the game, but this way it'll bring some more players into multiplayer..
I dont understand why all of you are so angry about PSN going down for a few weeks. Its for the Greater good!
