Ok, playing as Tails or Knuckles in the original Sonic is just plain weird. They were never there originally. Anyways, now I'm hopeful that Sega's other emulated games will be brought over to the new engine. I'm so looking forward to playing Gunstar Heroes on my iPad. And please Sega, if you're listening, bring Sonic 3 & Knuckles!
Ah dang, I'm gonna have to pick up an iTunes card today just for this. I absolutely adored Christian's Sonic CD port, and the nostalgia for the first game is strong with me.
That's the spirit. Support the devs! This is one huge example why more and more games go the freemium route By the way it's out in the UK so it should be worldwide

Why not support such masterful port work? It's not even just a straight port; it has extra characters, a time attack mode, and great presentation. Worth the 3 bucks for sure. I'm really diggig the new title and menu.
I bought it. I must say I had very high expectations and still I'm suprised! I think is it even a better port work than the one done with Sonic CD.
CHEATS TIME!!! 1. After unlocking Tails, choose 'No Save' mode, then the plus for both Sonic and Tails, then at the Sega screen tap the letters in order: 'A G E S' which changes Tails' name to 'Miles'. 2. During cheat 1., a screen in Japanese briefly appears. Could someone translate it? 3. Do the same as cheat 1. but tap in order 'S E G A' and a chime will sound as before. I have no idea what this does, so lets have fun finding out! 4. After unlocking Tails, choose a new game, then the plus for both Sonic and Tails. When in game, hold up and press jump and again in mid air to initiate Tails' flying mode! Jump at Tails to hang on, then use the D-Pad and jump button to fly. And according to Whitehead on the Sonic Retro forums there's more to be found! Maybe there's a super peel out mode from Sonic CD?
