Well, as a long time Sonic fan (not fanboy), this is fun and has pottential both to become terrible and great. Its a bit absurd, but its fan-service so I love it, honestly. Basically, to me, breaks down to this: + fun + 2D + engaging Versus - looks cheap - crystals are useless - iAPs always suck - this timer is absurd - it runs terribly on my 4s and it wants iOS8 (why?!?) - every time i try to revivve with red rings or watching an add it crashes - everytime I turn off my screen for a second it exits - ... In both cases I lose the rings, energy and progress made in the last level I cant stop playing it though. Looking forward to it expanding and being fixed.
What stuns me is didnt they have any beta testers saying 'this takes a while to load when i want to start again' or 'theres tons of screens trying to get me to buy stuff or post stuff on facebook, cant i just play the game ?' I'm just surprised by it as its so frustrating. The game itself is a nice runner with Sonic style graphics. Its just all the crap around it. The one good thing its done is got me playing Rayman Fiesta again as thats simply 'just play it' and not faff about with 'buy this item...' screens on end. I wish they would stop with the 'social media - can you spam the game for us on facebook' stuff, frustrating. Huge shame as i love early 90's Sega
The hell they didn't, I complained about both during the soft launch! Heck, the loading times were always abysmal, not even sure why it needed to connect at all besides their own ranking system.
After trying multiple times through the day to download the additional date and failing (hard crash at 2%) I just deleted it.
Check out all the 5 star app reviews claiming that the app is perfect and THIS IS WHAT THEY HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR for years. This is terrifying.
Apparently it's Sonic's 24th Birthday. It's funny that they still have Sonic '06 music yet they never released a patch to fix it or anything.
Yeah i dont take app store reviews seriously anymore, unless theres a 'longer' review which to me seems more legit than the one liners saying best game ever etc Shame
I really like this game at the core and I can tolerate all the silliness but the loading times are abysmal.
