I was just checking out some of the Battlefield:Bad Company 2 leader boards, and noticed that one guy has logged 2108 hours i to the game. When you put that number into perspective, it's stunning. 2108 hours=almost 88 days. He has played the equivalent of 3 straight months WITHOUT break. Also, assuming he got the game on its release date (3/2/2010), he has played a whopping 8 hours per day. 8 hours per day. That's what most people spend on their job. He's spending it on gaming These numbers become even more ludicrous when you think about what a video game really is. He has spent 8 hours a day on a virtual simulation of a shooting game. On a few pictures that appear on a screen. I found this really stunning, and I know the numbers must get even more absurd when you get to MW2. And I thought the 36 hours I have logged in over 6 months was a lot!
If that is one guy, that's ridiculous and sad! But it could be a family/friend using it. Me and my brothers share a playstation, maybe this guy does too.
lol that would be funny if the guy comes on here and sees this... but yeah thats insane! I could never play that much even if I am obsessed with games haha
What's so fascinating about the game? Despite reading so many peoples' comments and watching videos on Youtube... AND playing it for about 10 minutes, I don't see what's so awe-inspiring out of just building things and exploring a kind of pointless universe. Please decode
Although I haven't actually played the game myself, what I've gleaned from the hype is that you can do absolutely anything. The world is so vast and so limitless that what you can accomplish is only up to you, your imagination, and your dedication. People have literally built 8-bit processors in the game; they're massive and not very fast, but they work. (I'd link a video, but i'm on the iPod right now; I'll see if I can get around to a computer to show it.) Many are trying to build entire computers in the virtual world as well. The big thing about it is what you can create.
You can't really do anything. It's mostly building models people are into. Castles, underground caverns, tree houses, giant Pac-Man ghosts...
