Another vote for not liking Eco Punk here, which is unfortunate because I really like the graphics. Really wish bitflip had sold better, same for Minisquadron. Though Minisquadron is pretty well known around these forums.
Picked up Mondrian and Pirate Wings due to this thread. Gonna get Red Conquest one of these days too. My contribution would be: Chop Sushi! - Excellent, funny, neat art, match-3. A true gem in an over-run genre. Arachnadoodle - Peggle meets secret of bryce manor. Sort of. TA Space! - Towers in Space - I love tower defense and this is one of the funniest and most challenging out there. It's good. Thanks for the heads up!
Don't want to pile on too hard, but Eco punk's a real head-scratcher for me too. Bored silly by it in half a minute. I noticed a decent sized thread on Super Juicy so it seems to have gotten some attention, but I'll plug it anyway, since it was the most unexpectedly enjoyable game I've played since I got my phone. It was totally not my type of game in any way but I just couldn't put it down, even for sleep. Still boggles my mind that I like that one so much. Also, Thumb Jam -- it's not a game, even though you still play it, but without question the most mind blowing music app probably in existence. Now that's causing my sleep deprivation.
I'm with the robot on eco punk... although I like the web version much more than the iPhone one. But it's a nice substitute when I'm around. I'd say that DropZap would deserve more recognition... it's a highly addictive puzzle game, play it online: http://dropzap.appspot.com/ The dev has already made a number of updates, adding things like online leaderboard and improving the graphics - although they are certainly still not top notch. Picked it up for free and seems to be still free, so I don't really understand why there isn't more buzz around it. It's just a little game based on a simple idea, but I've really spent a ridiculous amount of hours with it.
oh and iOverTheNet is a nice beach volleyball game that seems to be popular only in Italy. I found out it's actually a port of a game that was successful on the Amiga, and it doesn't surprise me. It's an arcade yet challenging game that is a lot of fun and has tons of customization options.
Personally I found Eco-punk quite enjoyable. I guess it's just a matter of opinion. Other games I think don't get enough attention are apocalypse zombie fish and super turbo action pig
STAP was featured in hot new games on the app store EDIT: Pirate Wings looked nice and all, but i didn't like the camera angle. gonna check out Submachine and PenguinKun though.
Dude! Thanks for the compliments! I definitely try to stay active in these forums and post news about the game. Many of my reviews are like that, "I hate these kinds of games, but I like this?! huh?!" Heheh.
It is worth that for me. When you first get into the game it may seem to be on the short side, but by level 3 or 4 the game starts to become longer and more complicated.
-Vector Tanks Extreme doesn't seem to be getting enough attention. Sometimes it feels as if I'm the only one in the world playing it at any given moment, and that everyone who raved about it at first has moved on to other things. Again, it's just a feeling - nothing based in fact, except that the leaderboard activity is underwhelming to say the least. -Jet Car Stunts is getting OK attention, but deserves more (i.e. Y in the Openfeint "Showing X out of Y" at the bottom, for certain tracks, has increased by less than about a couple dozen in weeks). -Boost3D doesn't seem to be getting enough attention. There were some new terrain features unveiled by the dev just before he skipped the scene. It would be interesting to know how things are going with that.
Agreeing with the Eco Punk critique, for me the most baffling thing was that a massive section of the map, and sometimes screen, was taken up by a park that you can't enter. I'm with Grubjelly on Vector Tanks Ex, even though it got front page recognition here on TA, no one seems to have liked it. For me, I'm waiting to see if the dev is going to beef up the leaderboard system at all before gunning for the top spots in any serious fashion. As for games that need more recognition, Assassin's Creed 2 Multiplayer! The launch issues are all ironed out now, but it seems to be too little to late for most people. Which is a shame, because it's pretty damn awesome.
Colorbind is all I'll say; maybe not. It's a simple yet challenging and fun game. I hope more levels get added in the future.
