I was just thinking, would it be possible to add more difficulty levels to the game, and allow you to replay at least once, maybe even twice (or more!) with the same character? So like, you finish the game on normal, keep your level/gear, and now play through on the next difficulty. Etc. Etc. People are finding some cool items, and it seems like there are quite a few of them in the game; it seems a pity if you happen to find an epic staff or ring on level 9 to not get much use out of it. Same with skills; it would be fun to keep evolving your character, see how far you could take him. Perhaps multiple save slots could be added, (a good idea in any case) so you could keep leveling one character while still being able to have multiple playthroughs on "normal" only with another, for those who may prefer that. And while I'm here: would love to see some kind of multiplayer added as well.
Yes. This is a good idea, it'll be easy to implement, and I should have thought to put it in in the first place. I am trying to get a critical crash-fixing update out ASAP, but after I do I will go back and put this in.
Wonderful. Thank you. I'm on my second play-through now, this time going with lightning and the game seems much harder. Possibly because I got too carried away with the pretty lights and severly neglected my mana. Loving every minute of it though; I can burst into any room and fire off enough power to light up a small town...shortly before hitting the floor.
Got the ring once, got the staff once. It's all very random when and where and who drops those stuff. Very big part of charm comes from all the randomization that makes you really think your every move. Stuck on level 5 now due to a couple wrong decisions when choosing skills upon leveling up.
About difficulty levels. I thought the skill (missile, lightning, firebolt) you picked in the first place determines how tough the game would be?
It does, but that's roughly a gauge of "if you're a beginner, use magic missile, when you've played enough to get used to the controls, you can handle lightning, and after you've really got it down, you're ready for the raw pants-busting power of fireball." It's because Magic Missile is 100% guided, so you can fire anywhere. Lightning is slightly guided-- you have to be looking somewhat at your target. Fireball is not guided at all, so it requires an extra bit of ability to aim at what you want to hit.
My game kept on crashing when I was trying to advance to the next floor so I had to restart the game. Now I've tried going back to a previous floor on a new game a few times, but it keeps on crashing when I attempt to do so.
Have you tried turning your iPod/iPhone off and on and trying it again? People seem to be having success with this, as a temporary fix until I can get an update out.
Hi, 1st off I love the game and am totally addicted!! Next I too have also had it freeze up once on me (I should note this was after a fresh reboot). My freeze was just after I had fought the hammer and won. The next room I cleared and leveled up and then as I was walking down a hall and just as a enemy was about to come on screen if froze. The music kept playing but I the controls were frozen and nothing on screen would respond. I restarted my ipod 2nd gen and reloaded the game. I re beat the hammer, cleared out the next room, and walked down the same hall but this time no freeze. Hopefully this bug can be squashed because otherwise the game is fantastic! Mike
Just to be sure again, how exactly do you save in a room(not the 1st 1 in the dungeon) like per say the room in front of the boss?
Open the magic door, walk through, and walk back. When you die, it restarts you wherever you just walked into the dungeon... so you'll start up again emerging from the magic door.
I just killed Solomon's bone dragon maggot spewing pet thing. I bet he's pissed now. I can keep up a Level 7 Lightning + Level 3 Stun for over 30 seconds, because I fully upgraded the mana regeneration skill and the mana cost depletion (Battle Mage) skill is at level 2. Suh-weet!
Damn I need to beat Crusade of Destiny so I can get back to this...I was frustrated with the controls (using your magic) but now that I know I was doing it wrong, that should be fixed. I was having that same issue with not controlling the direction of my spell. All of you are making me REALLY want to get back into this.
i know Raptisoft already agreed, but i want to agree too. the thing i love most about RPGs is finding epic equipment and using it forever (or at least a long time).
Could I ask a favor of one of the players who is getting a frequent hang while playing? Can you do the following: 1. Start playing a song on your iPod/iPhone 2. Start Solomon's Keep (your music will replace the game music) 3. See if you don't get any hangs. Thanks! --John
but is fire the better weapon? I, being a regular dual stick player went for fire immediately, lured in by the great damage, but I'm wondering whether lightning isn't a better weapon; it looks awesome
Is it normal for all the enemies ti go slow motion after you level up? also, about the super speedy glitch, it depends on he long you pit your device in sleep mode. The longer you put it in sleep mode, the longer you go hyper afterwards.
