wow, screw that - I'm not about to spend 4 hours to beat a boss, especially when the rest of the game only takes about an hour or so.
I've been playing through this every chance I get over the past few days. I can't quite put my finger on it, but something just feels right. I'm very much looking forward to the cemetery upgrade as well as Solomon's Boneyard, and I would gladly pay for new classes. It seems as though Solomon's Keep is nestled in sort of a sweet spot, a casual Roguelike with (from what I've seen) a limited but very well balanced/polished set of skills. I would love the ability to play through multiple playthroughs at Archmage difficulty as opposed to having that be a true 'end'. I believe this relates to a lot of the same reasons people are requesting the cemetery to grind. It's a nice feeling to be able to dust off a game every now and run through it with your favorite character. And if that's out of the question, maybe at least some way to carry over a benefit to a new character (ie, allowing the player to take one of the epic items from archmage mode back into the next game, somewhat like Torchlight). Another idea that seems to be popular these days is unlockable perks (rewards for completing certain feats, perhaps?). I'm thinking of small bonuses that allow the player a bit more control over their starting conditions, like starting out with Creative or beginning a new game on a higher difficulty. These seem well suited to a replayable game like this, but I appreciate that not everyone feels the same. That's my two cents anyways. It's already awesome imho, so I'm confident that whatever you decide to do will continue that trend. I look forward to watching it grow, and best of luck!
I feel that the to beat Solomon at any level is Magic Circle combined w/ Lighting or Flame Lash. Just continue to keep him in your circle to slow him down while at the same time constantly hitting him w/ Lighting or Flame Lash. Attack the hell out of 'em once he disengages his shield, as that is the only time he's vulnerable to damage. As you know, it only take Solomon a second or two to re-engage his shield but w/ Magic Shield, that second or two of vulnerability turns into 3-5 seconds of vulnerability. Even though it doesn't seem like much, that extra 2-3 seconds of damage greatly increases your odds of killing him in a much more timely manner.
Just FYI, the shield is a hit point shield... if you hit it enough it goes down. A lot of people wait for him to put it down or whatnot, but that's not how it works, it works just like your own magic shield, it simply has its own number of hit points. So you need to attack Solomon constantly, shield or no. It sounds like you're avoiding attacking him while his shield is up.
you can bet your grandma on it! It 'may' have some visual monotony but the everything else IS JUST RIGHT!
Working on the visual monotony. I have heard you guys, it's just that there's been so much other stuff to do first.
Well i kinda found a little cool trick. When you level up, if you don't like your choices, just close the app and restart it. It'll start you at the skill choice screen again with all new choices. You're welcome
I just start over thats how much fun I'm having with this game and I love solomons evil laugh should have done it longer though
Thank you very much. I have actually practiced a laugh that goes on for a full minute. Perhaps it will find its way into a future version.
I enjoy playing this game. when this came out i go fast and bought it and im loving this game still thanks for this game!!
Nope, I was attacking him as much as I could. I just couldn't bring down that shield very often (I think only once or twice). Granted, I didn't try for long (maybe 10 min?), but given how little damage I did to him in that period, I figured I didn't want to spend hours trying to kill him. I think anything longer than 20-30 min. for a boss is too much, particularly for a mobile game. Anyway, I think I have a better skill build this time - I've gone with lightning balls. It was interesting - the first two times I took that skill, I only had one magic missile, so as good as it was, it still took some time to skill some creatures now that I'm on Wizard level again (though it didn't deplete my mana at all!). But I got a lot more levels in the various magic missile skills, and now, holy crap! It shoots out like 6 missiles - they just blow everything away. But they also very quickly drain my mana. However, I have magic circle bumped up a few times and secondary skill reload time reduced, so with that circle up with almost no pause after it dies, I can pump out the balls continuously quite a bit before running out of mana. I found though that having that many missiles is good for many mobs but not so good for just one - only a few of the missiles hit while the rest fly right past. Would getting more on Potent Missiles fix that (I think I have 1 or 2 levels on it now)?
Yes, potent helps with that... potent missiles makes the missiles retarget, move faster, and turn faster, too. But when you're throwing 5+, the edge ones will always have a lot of sideways momentum, so they're likely to hit a wall or something if you're in a small room.
bug? Hi, is it possible to be invincible and use zero mana? I ask because my 6yr old is immune to all damage including acid. His mana never goes down either. I can unequip all his items and it still happens. He has the latest version. He didn't even realize it until he asked me which ring to use. Then I noticed it. Kind of funny and he's really happy about it.
