The Monculus thing is something one other person has reported, and I'm looking into it. I haven't been able to duplicate it so far. After you go into Wizard difficulty, levelups slow... as you attain higher levels they slow even more, just a general RPG progression. Otherwise the game would run out of skills before you could win it. If you have money, spend it on experience.
Also you have to carefully look into the item shop guy in the town. I got there at two different times a "50 % more experience points" ring, so 2 * 50 % EXP more. So at the middle floor in 2nd difficulty I had them to the end, I think I had up to level 37 at the end of 3rd difficulty
I tried the game and i loved it then bought it. Currently i'm at level 30 and exploring the dungeons at floor 8 with wizard dificulty. But now i can't go further since i've cleared the floor and i don't have the key to open the doors for the boss level. It's bug? I just don't want do reset the game, cause i'm too strong now to facing any threats. I made my wizard like a God "Zeus" with a lot of mana regen.
Oh I see... It just surprised me because it got so much harder so quickly I thought it was a bug. Floor 12 is hell, the wizards are still zapping before I can do anything... any help? By the way... I'm not sure if this is intentional or not but I basically don't use mana because of Mana Channel and Battle Mage. Oh yeah the staff that gives 1000% more gold is beyond epic
I've had several people complain about this, but I haven't been able to verify it yet. At least two of them later wrote to say "oh, I found the chest with the key, it was tucked into a corner." So I'm not sure... have you walked over every inch of the level?
So, I was wondering Raptisoft..... Have sales Picked up after dropping the price to 99 cents? I know there were a few people in the Doodle Army Contest that picked Solomon's Keep as there prize since it dropped.
I am really enjoying this game a lot. Restarted after clearing Student because I wanted to play with other skills. Would be nice to have multiple save slots. Things I have learned so far: (1) always take mana up whenever its available; (2) take battlemage whenever its available but mana up is not; (3) teleport will prevent a death or two; (4) the door to heal can be abused and feels like cheating. I suggest limiting the door to once per level or something; (5) magic shield is not a bad secondary skill. (6) lighting starts a lot weaker then fireball; (7) fireball missiles is a good combo. I think you want at least 3 missiles before you combine the skills, 1 point in shards (only 1). Not sure you need any points in splash damage, may not be worth the mana cost. (8) if you are using the shop, buy the +gold item asap and the +experience item next. (9) check out what skills can be bought before you start your game because it may inform your primary skill selection.
The monculus thing happens when you use the door to heal and go back to fight the boss and then die. Do the enemies give more exp as you go along? and is there any tip to get rid of wizard shields?
I have always wondered what people like us who love games can do to help you guys out, more then just buying it. Is there anything we can do to help you guys? I just don't understand why games like yours and Tilt to Live that are so good are not at least near the top in there categories. Cant wait for the add on stuff and that page you said you were putting together to better explain somethings.
I appreciate this! Maybe I'll put a tip jar on my site. Other than that, just letting me know what kind of bugs are going on helps enormously. I think Solomon's Keep got badly overlooked initially because of the first freeze-up bug. And, of course, if you have time, give it a review on the App store, twitter it, facebook it... you know, anything that helps word of mouth move around. Since I don't know how to advertise (0 skill points put into "Business Sense"), I rely purely on word of mouth. To a game developer, sometimes the games are our babies, and we desperately want them to do well enough that we can put out sequels, or superdeluxe versions, instead of having to bite the bullet and write a Bejewelled rip-off to put food on the table. So anything to you can do to get people to heard the words "Solomon's Keep" is awesome. I have to say, all the rah-rah helps too. Almost all artists (and video game programmers qualify) are moody devils, so when we're in a funk, reading some cheerful "great game!" comments can bring the muse back.
Well I'm one of the ones who has been looking at this game for awhile now and decided to just buy it while on sale. And I have to say I've been pleasantly surprised with it. It's the only game I've been playing the last few days. On a side note, I see people have been mentioning a few things about an update that is planned for the game. What is this update going to entail? I'm sorry if you've already answered the question recently some pages back. If so, just a page number would suffice.
Well it is a GREAT GAME. haha, A tips jar might get you some money. But a lot of people's problems here on this website, or at least me, is that I am an unemployed teenager with no disposable income. Thats why I am so frugal in spending on the app store, waiting for sales, other things. Trying to spread out as much as I can the $30 gift card I won like a month ago. I also hate that i dont have many friends that buy Apps, they just dont. But I tell them all the time, get this and that. Im sending you a PM with something though.
If there's something I want kept secret, I'll explicitely say so. For instance, when the Boneyard beta comes, keep that under your hat until the features are finalized... mostly because if something isn't working and needs to be ripped out, I don't want to build anticipation for it on the net. But the stuff in 2.1 isn't coming back out, so you can blab that all you want.
Ha, you don't to make a herculean effort-- just casually saying "hey, I played this great game Solomon's Keep, look it up if you're ever buying apps" is plenty!! You'd be surprised how well word of mouth works in the software biz-- better than advertising, I'd say. I ever had someone send me an e-mail saying his buddy was drawing a Solomon's Keep cartoon in high school, and he looked over and said "what's that" and ended up buying it.
alrighty then don't know if those fire monsters appearing out of treasure boxes was new or not, Shadow Demons have a cool death effect
