Good 15~20 hours of gameplay I say. Due to the current bug, you cannot advance after Archmage, the game simply resets. So there is no way right now to get 100% max skills. When you level up, you'll get a random 3 skill choices and you get to pick one. There is a new skill however called "Creativity" which upon learning will allow 4 skill choices instead of 3. Also, to Devs, the "Life Up" and "Mana Up" gives +0 life after certain level, I think Lv5+. I have Lv1 Life Up and Lv1 Mana up and equipped with +3 to all skills which raises Life and Mana Up to Lv4. But if I level any of those skills, it resets back to +0.
I just experienced for the first time the slow down that people have been talking about. I really can't tell why it happened this time and no other time - I didn't see anything different about this situation than others. I was playing on Wizard level, level 10 and using flame lash. It occurred in a room with some of those flame demons that throw out bouncing fireballs. when I'd get far enough in the room, the game would slow to about 1 frame a second. As I'd back out though, it would resume to normal speed. What's even odder is that when I lead the things out of the room, the slowness didn't happen. And after I killed them, it hasn't happened since. I also tried quitting the game and restarting (before killing them), but it didn't make a difference - the game still slowed down. I've encountered those things many times before and never experienced the slowness - weird. I also found I think another bug. The mages that shoot fire bolts only seem affected by stun for movement - their rate of fire remains the same. Everything else though stops firing when I hit them with my flamelash (with stun). [edit] Happened again on the same floor, but this time just with some zombies. So unless it was the flamelash, not sure it has anything to do with flames. Also, I think actually all mages are unaffected by stun for firing - I was hitting some freeze mages that kept firing at me as well.
That's not a bug. The end of Archmage is the end of the game. The message saying "You have conquered all of Solomon's Keep" at the end is an indicator that this is game behavior, and not an error. It's fixed in 1.2, which is going into testing today.
I don't know how you feel, philosophically, about it...but an equipment-swap button would go a long way. That is, a button on the main screen that instantly swaps a full equip set up with another. (mainly for swapping +% gold/xp gear for fightin' gear)
Philosophically, it's a great idea... now my only issue is where I could fit it... perhaps not a button on the main screen, but a way to swap in inventory...
Maybe I'm in the minority on this one, but I don't think you need the "?" button on the main screen. Why can't that be accessed instead from the inventory menu? I guess, to me, a button on the main screen has to earn it. Not by being important (which the ? certainly is!), but by being something you'd frequently interact with. Every other button on the main screen pulls its weight...but how often does a player really need to get to the "?" button RIGHT NOW.
My tech support inbox is not big enough to handle all the "how do I access the menu while in game" e-mails.
I'm not sure if this was mentioned in the past, but have you ever thought about adding a new type of ring/staff/ability that increases the rate of drop rate of rings & staffs out of treasure chests?
Yesterday I tried playing and my game resumed with me walking out of a staircase and immediately being attacked by the boss and then the game crashed. I launched it again, resumed my game and the same thing happened. I eventually managed to get away from the boss and the game worked for a little until the boss was on top of me again and it crashed again. Repeat a number of times and eventually I offed the boss and now the game seems to be working OK. So there's that, but what I really noticed in doing this that I kept getting close to dying and then used the key to open the door to go back to the starting area. I purchased a few items and went back through the door and was surprised to find that the boss had the same amount of damage as when I left him/her/it. So I ended up just attacking them and then when my health was low I used the key and went through the door, then went back. Repeat. That seems like it shouldn't be possible. Go through the door, instantly heal, then continue the battle where you left off.
I found a bug.......If you go into the Magic Key Doorway when you are poisoned (green life bar), when you come back out your health will automatically regenerate to 100% and you're no longer poisoned.
An update! 2.1 has gone into beta testing, and fixes all known bugs, and adds some stuff too. Hopefully 2.1 will kill all outstanding issues, and the Graveyard expansion will be out in a couple weeks. Changes in 2.1: o Three save slots are now available o Players can now play in Hardcore mode. In hardcore mode, you get only one life, and cannot continue if you die. o Fixed a bug that could cause hit points to fall to minimum level if you equipped a "bonus to all skills" item. o Fixed a few graphical glitches o Fixed a glitch that caused framerate to drop when fighting demons and zombies on Wizard difficulty o Hit Area of in-game buttons has been increased, and hit area of the thumbsticks has been decreased. o A glitch with the experience bar and trading gold for experience has been fixed. o An exploit that allowed players to get infinite level ups has been removed o To improve game balance, buying knowledge is now more expensive at higher difficulties. o Due to some apparent glitches in the Facebook library code, Facebook will no longer automatically resume your last session when you start the program. You will now have to touch the facebook icon, and select "resume." o Fixed a problem where the magic door caused players to become embedded in walls or blank areas of the dungeon o Meditation skill has been adjusted to invoke faster after player goes idle.
Going to town heals you. You would not believe the amount of "tech support" e-mail that came in demanding this.
Yes, that will be a 99 cent in-app purchase. It's actually going to be a whole other game tacked onto Solomon's Keep, sort of like having Solomon's Keep and Minigore bundled into one.
Hardcore mode will be the mode to play for me. Certainly makes exploring the tower more risky and challenging overall.
