Yeah, the whole game slows down. When I hit the menu button, it takes at least twenty seconds to open completely; I can see each little bump of movement. Also, another thing is that I can see the Lightning flash on and off slowly (usually it's so fast it's impossible to see); there was enough time in between flashes of lightning to say "Solomon's Keep" about two and a half times. Everything moved really slow, even when I wasn't using Magic Circle (or Magic Shield - I tried it before I reset), and when there were no Frost Mages near. I guess to answer your question: No, it didn't skip anything. All the action just moved really slowly. I called it a drop in framerate because the screen was only redrawing once every two or three seconds, but the game slowed down as well. For example, when I would hold the movement to the left, it would go step........step........step.......etc., without skipping anything. It just went really slowly. One more thing: The slowdown was inconsistent. It would go really slow for about a minute, then regular for a few seconds, then back to slow again. As soon as either I destroyed all the demons or got sufficiently far away from them (about a screen and a half distance away), the speed went instantly back to normal.
Hrm... I might be barking up the wrong tree, then. If the game itself slows down, what you should see is frame skipping, meaning several frames will happen, but it'll only draw, say, every 6th frame. So this might have something to do more with the esoteric memory workings of the iPhone. Tell me, if you shut down, and come back, does it change anything, or do you still get the slow crawl?
I tried shutting the game down and returning to it in the middle of a slowdown, and that didn't help whatsoever. I didn't try restarting the iPhone, but I already reset the game, so I can't do it now. I'll play through the game a few times over the next couple of days and see if I can recreate the incident. If so, I'll try restarting the iPhone and see if that fixes anything.
Could u please comment on my words about Inventory button? is it possible to increase the touch area for it?
I sometimes find it hard to hit the secondary skills like teleport or my shield. Sometimes I tap them and there is no response at all and if my teleport skill doesn't respond I usually end up dying. I also notice that while the game has a duel stick setup I can often tap anywhere on the screen other than the thumb pads and my character responds. For example if I tap or hold the screen up by the question mark which takes you to the control panel my character will start walking up. Why aren't the two thumb sticks limited to just the area where your thumbs would go. I can see maybe a bit of extra room for movement but it is really annoying when you try to tap a skill or you bag and your character starts moving.
Well... it's pretty big. It's the whole upper left area of the screen. Making it bigger will make it overlap the other buttons.
Sometimes when you open chests gold comes out like normal but there's another closed chest on top of the open one (you can't open the second chest). Also, I agree that the movement and attack sometimes 'stick' and that the secondary skills are not very responsive (especially when you're moving).
I believe I know the issue with the skill buttons... It seems that you can only activate them while standing still. I have only been able to get them to work while I wasn't moving. This lead to several near (and sometimes actual) deaths.
No, you can press them while moving... I do it frequently, especially when using Ring of Fire. I believe, however, that the iPod itself might have a little bit of glitchiness, especially if you have two fingers all over the screen. I know from doing iChuzzle that there is some glitchiness in the device itself involving drags.
I found another glitch. When you have full health upgrades and then you get a +1 all skills you go back to +0 extra health. Also, I would to have multiple save slots if possible.
Alright this game has become medicore to a more enjoyable game with the 2.0 since there's actually a lot more options to the game now, can't wait for a endless or larger dungeon and hopefully save slots. Bugs that I have encountered in the game so far. Playing Normal difficulty can't remember what that is called with no gloom on since I was playing with very low brightness trying to conserve battery power. Minor Bugs Restarting back at village bug If you go through a door back to town then back into the door because you're getting pushed or running back into the door really quickly before it disappears, it would sometimes puts you back in town from the top path to solomon tower. When this happens the door sometimes disappear and you would have to walk all the way back up by foot. Pause Bug If you hit the menu button then the inventory button right after very fast or even if you try to talk to someone and hit the inventory button the menu screen disappers and the game locks down but it's in infinite pause. The menu is still there you can click it but you can't see it or close it. You need to just the home button and load the game again. Major Bugs. Disappearing Chest I had one problem where i came from town there was one room unexplored to the south that has monsters and a chest in and one room over and up and down all unexplored has monsters and chest in them. I was trying to get a magic item to appear out of the chest by opening them and dying. I went with the room over bottom and top and set a save spot there. When i went to the one room to the south there was no chest over there anymore and even after multiple reload the chest did not appear there which would probably lead to my next bug. Unable to complete floor 4 with boss On the fourth floor with the boss I was sort of doing the same thing again like above. I think there was suppose to be a chest in one of the rooms but probably disappeared which could have contained the key to the boss. I unable to clear the floor and advance and yes I checked every room and everything on that floor. Disappearing open chest and Monsters Open chest should stay but some of the open chest disappears after multiple reloads and same with explored areas that contain monsters in them. The monster might have have disappeared because I had to reload the game due to the pause bug i mention above in the minor section above. If my writing about the disappearing unopened chest in unexplored is confusing let me try to draw a diagram for you hehe. I am using a Iphone 3Gs with 3.1.3 OS not jailbroken of course
Because of the new game+ I think Solomon should drop loot now. Also, it seems like whenever you quite and re-enter the game you go back to the start of a floor??
if you took the stairs then quit, you should spawn on that floor after loading up game, though floor should be as you left it if you used the magic key, went through the door then that's where you'll spawn
Well sometimes I would clear let's say half a floor and then exit. When I enter back in the rooms are uncleared and I'm back at the start of the floor. Also, I'm experiencing major slow down when facing those fire guys who throws fireballs.
The dev will probably ask you more questions about this, but just out of curiosity, did this start happening on Wizard difficulty, and were you using Lightning at the time?
Just played through with flamelash and encountered no slowing, starting to look like the issue is specific to lightning and ball lightning
I'm looking into it. I'm actually having an iPod shipped to me with a savegame that manifests the problem, since I can't reproduce it on any of my dev machines for the life of me.
Little more info for you, maybe It will help. My iPhone 3Gs is brand new and nearly empty, and I still experience the slowdowns.
