Still a bargain at that price in my opinion. Not even sure what it is about this game but I find it strangely addictive. I have now played it through 5 times and still enjoy it immensely especially with the update.
I just found a bug, I died twice but it didn't count it on my stats page. Otherwise I must say I love this game!
Wow! I just played the lite and was addicted......been playing for the last 30 min. And I must say, you got a buyer! SOLD!!
Okay, I have to say Wow! 2.0 is amazing. I've been having so much fun with Magic Circle and Siege Mage, along with some other new stuff. I think the new length of the game is perfect. One quick note: Lightning with Stun maxed out (90%) plus a boss in the Magic Circle = no attacks. I beat the new boss in a few seconds, and he didn't even attack. When I beat Solomon, he had time to put up two shields; they didn't do so well. Right now I'm playing through on Wizard difficulty. It's been actually very easy so far, but I got really lucky with items/abilities the first playthrough, so that could explain it. One really, really, really big thing. On the 10th and 11th levels (I'm stuck on level 11 right now, but not because it's hard), there are a lot of those fiery things from 1.0 and the new, bigger fiery things. The problem: They slow the game down to a crawl. Floor 11 took me at least an hour in real time because every time those dang demons would show up, the framerate would drop so low that i could see every individual frame with some time in between. The lightning was flashing, and I could say "Solomon's Keep" three times before every little frame of movement. It is extremely frustrating, especially since I worked so hard getting through the Keep twice, only to be discouraged by this performance issue. Needless to say, the game is unplayable with this slowdown. It's fine whenever the demons aren't on the screen, but when they are, it's just really frustrating. Some background information: Character is level 34, has Lightning maxed out at level 20, Arching at level 4 or 5, and Stun maxed out. Magic Circle maxed out, Magic Shield on level 4, and Battle Mage maxed out then boosted with items to grant me -97% mana usage. Some other issues: Whenever I hit sleep then come back to the game and unpause, the music does not play. Also, one suggestion: take the poisonous zombies out of the outside hallways. It's really annoying to kill one, have to wait for its puddle to disappear, then proceed and repeat 4-5 times just to get back into the Keep. There have been some other bugs, but I can't remember them right now; none of them were significant, except the glaring one that I described in the previous paragraph. I'm not going to start over in case you need more details about what's happening. EDIT: I forgot to say that the framerate has been somewhat poor in 2.0. 1.2 was very smooth and didn't have a single performance issue that I encountered, but 2.0 is full of slow-downs. For example, several times when I tried to use the door to go back to town, the framerate would slow to a crawl, to where I could watch each individual frame of the door animation pass by slowly. Also, about half the time when I come back from town, the wizard will appear in the Keep, but everything will be slow, and he'll be stuck in the door for a few seconds, and then I'm back at the town. Not a major bug, just a little annoying. EDIT 2: New bug! When does Lightning max out? I haven't been able to buy a level-up in Lightning from the guy in town for a while, but I've been able to keep leveling it up normally. Also, equips won't take me past level 20 with it. However, I just leveled up to 35, and "Lightning 21" is an option. What worries me is that at the bottom it says "Damage: 2/SEC / MANA COST: +0". The mana cost might be explained by my high stat in Battle Mage, but the damage looks just like it does in Lightning 1, so I'm worried that it is going to cycle back through and that level 21 will be exactly like level 1. I have a screenshot if that would be helpful to you.
I'm guessing it stayed there. I tried going through it and shooting it for a few minutes, then I just kept going and didn't look back. Also, I haven't experienced any frame rate issues. I have like 6 of the fire demons on screen shooting fireballs and like 10+ "fire minions" running around at a time and nothing. Even with all the explosions and me shooting, it still runs smooth.
I'm sorta curious about this. Maybe it's my playstyle, but I don't find +life to be useful. I only get a life+ skill if every other one is useless to me. Even on Archmage difficulty, I'm not sold on a longer life bar. Mainly because as soon as I start getting hit, I'm almost always dead. As in, either I'm near full health, and maybe taking a couple arrows, or I'm trapped in a corner getting munched on by dirty zombies. That said, I always pick up Shield as soon as it's available. Best support skill, imo; at least for the way I play.
Whoever made this game, aka Raptisoft, are my heroes. This game is so awesome. I'm addicted. I might get fired from work from playing it instead of coding. I got it while it was free and I actually feel guilty about it. Because you guys deserve the money for the quality and care you put into making this game. I love the new longetivy in the update. Please keep updating it!
Don't think it was ever free but it may have felt like 99ยข was getting it for free Even the new price of $2 is incredibly cheap for this.
I was just playing last night, and the magic circle skill is cool! It reminds me a lot of the Slow Time skill the wizard class has in Diablo 3. So do the creatures in the circle stop completely? It looks like they don't do any damage at all while in there.
Please let me know if this continues to happen... I can't duplicate it at the moment, and I'm wondering if it's some super complex glitch that only happens in certain situations.
What...the....how did you do that? I've never had any primary skill get into the double digits, let alone...TWENTY?!? And you did that before even getting to Archmage? I've played this game on the order of 60 or 70 times, now; and I'm pretty sure Lightning 9 was the highest I ever had of any skill. Then again, I haven't used a non-melded spell in a while... As for stun: are you really finding it so useful? So much so that you maxxed it? I usually put 1 rank in it, but the increased mana cost beyond that doesn't seem worth it. That said, I've never actually tried it maxxed (what level is max, btw, for Stun?) or anywhere near.
I'll see if I can figure out what the demon slowdown is. Is it only the superlarge demons? Also, looks like the lightning somehow got over its max, probably due to equips. I'll look into that. Did you really pump lightning up past 20 levels, lol? You must be walking through the keep whistling at this point. I will take that screenshot. Though I expect if you took that lightning skill, it would cap you at 20, and you'd have level 21 lightning behaving and appearing as level 20, because there's a skill max cap (though the +1 to all skills is sneaking past that... do you have a +1 to all skills item?)
Well... I got a +1000% Gold staff from the first boss in the game, so I had ample money to buy... anything. Haha (NOTE: Right now, on Floor 6 of Archmage difficulty, I have 46,790 Gold sitting in my bag; I've already maxed out all of the skills that our buddy in town offers, so now it's useless to me). So, the first playthrough, I maxed out Stun and Battle Mage from the guy in town. Then, when I started Wizard difficulty, Lightning was available to purchase. I upgraded almost all the way from there. Also, I bought a +100% EXP ring REALLY early in the game, so I've had double experience through about two playthroughs already. I finally got past those demons, and now Archmage difficulty is a breeze. I'm just now experimenting with melding because I'm bored. Like I said, I only maxed out Stun because it was available, and with Battle Mage taking away 97% of my mana cost, there was no reason to not upgrade all the way. 90% stun on most of the screen pretty much makes you invincible. Add a Magic Circle, and every boss in the game becomes a breeze. Since I got Magic Circle and Stun, I'm pretty sure I haven't taken a single hit from a boss; most of them don't even get a chance to hit me. Haha. So... to answer your question, yes, it's very useful, but its use depends on your entire build a lot too.
I think the regular demons do it too. It's definitely a lot worse with the bigger demons or if there are multiple demons on the screen. Also, if it's helpful, I have an iPhone 3G. I explained how I easily got Lightning so high in the post above. Also, I had +4 total Lightning equips when this happened, I think. I haven't gotten the +1 to all skills item yet. I could get lv.22 Lightning on my next level-up if you want, to see what would happen. Worst case, I should be able to unequip one of my +2 Lightning items and restore it back to good strength, right? Screenshot:
I think bosses should be immune to stuns, knockbacks, etc. It's the only thing in 2.0 that seems OP. And I have experienced all the same framerate issues that lefrisbee described. It's not just him
Are you also on one of the up-difficulties? I'm playing with a bunch of demons on normal difficulty now, but am not seeing slowdowns. Did it happen before you got to Wizard or Archmage?
Anyone else notices how beautiful the game looks when you eliminate a large number of enemies with flame lash and then you level up at the same time?
I am looking for as much information as anyone can give me about the demonic slowdowns. Since I am going to post an update with a fix for the +to all skills items, I'd like to put this into it as well. When I set up a test room, throwing in about twenty demons, mixed big and small, I have no framerate issues. I have tried doing it with pumped lightning, flame lash, and ball lightning, which are the big eaters of processing time. My conclusion is something else is actually going on here that's causing the problem. Could I ask someone experiencing the slowdown to post a screenshot of what's going on while you're experiencing the bad framerate? Something about the configuration of monsters might be able to tell me something. If possible, get me several screenshots! Also, if possible, tell me the level of your primary skills-- like, I'd want to know your lightning, chaining, and stun and whatever is welded, too. This seems to be happening with lightning, right? Oh, and don't forget what difficulty-- normal, wizard, or archmage! Hopefully I can set up a testbed and reproduce the problem, and once reproduced it should be fixed quickly. Thanks!
