Yay! Finally got "Excellent. There was no room for improvement, really." Pretty sure I just got that because I had zero deaths, but either way I'm happy. :D

Alright, so I've had this game for awhile now and just started playing.... now I have a few questions.

Is it recommended that I try and stick to only 1 skill or should I get a couple and level them all?

I was sticking with the Missles but now that I'm around floor 8 or 9 the enemies who poison (I think that is what it is, the stuff turns you green for a bit) me drain my life like nuts. Not sure if I leveled my skills properly or not. :(

Aside from the missles I haven't really been focusing on anything else, I'm guessing this is probably hurting me.

Also is the shield worth it? I got it but I'm not sure what it does, does it absorb X amount of damage or does it last a certain amount of time?

    Oh and how many floors?

Usually it's good to stick to only one of the three main skills, like either lighting, or fire, or magic missles. The shield is great, it lasts until it's damaged a certain amount, I think at level one it absorbs like 25 damage, pretty useful, you may want to look into getting if you can a skill called Ring of Fire, it uses a lot of mana but when activated shoots out a circle of fire in all directions, it's awesome running into a mob of enemies and activating it. Anyway, other than that you'll want to invest in things like Battle Mage(which reduces the amount of energy a spell takes to cast), also Channel Mana which increases your mana regeneration, and pretty much anything that gets you more mana except for meditation which isn't particularly useful.

Battle mage is, imo, the best (support) skill in the game.

Meditation is tactically interesting, but it (a) it doesn't kick in while shooting and (b) takes about a second too long to kick in after taking your thumbs off the screen.

Anyway, seems to me that you want to focus on, in order:

    1) Mana boosting
    2) Primary spell boosting
    3) Support spells (Ring of fire, magic circle, shield etc)
    4) Life boosting and luxury skills (like Rush)

Except for Telekinesis. Not taking Telekinesis when you have the chance makes baby Solomon cry. FOREVER.

I look for two things in a new game:

    at least 75% more experience in combined items available from the shop;
some item that pulls orbs in from at least 200% further away (this substitutes for telekinesis)

My current build has a single ring that gives 100% extra, how schwei is that, double the xp!

In 2.0 it's REALLY HARD to choose between the things offered. VERY HARD. so much more strategy involved.

I love the xp booster items! They are so awesome! The best build I've had so far is probably having battle mage up to like level 8 where it took away 80% of the mana cost, it was awesome! I could shoot level 7 fireballs with level 3 embers, and level 5 explosive almost without losing mana.

Awesome. That's partly why Battle Mage is so great...you can get to where you ignore that blue bar.

In my last game, I had Battle Mage at -95% mana cost and +340% mana regen (total: 54/s). So, despite having the starting amount of mana and spamming 100% sped up 7-ball fire missiles, my mana bar was always full.

i agree with the need for a deluxe version or something.

i want a version where there is no need for in app purchases but still be able to get all the updates.

wi fi is a big problem for me in my country.

    thanks
    much appreciated

Oh yeah? Well in my last build that I abandoned, I had *two* 150% faster cast rings. *Two.* You should have seen me machine-gunning out ball lightning that then arc'd three times. And my mana hit the floor REALLY fast, but it was still lots of fun.

So i've been out of the loop regarding Solomon's Keep for a while. Can somebody bring me up to speed on a few things (I don't really want to read through dozens of pages to figure it out)

1.) What are the major updates coming out with v2.0?

2.) What is this talk about a deluxe version? Is there another game or in app purchases coming out soon?

So is that list part of a free v2.0 upgrade or is this part of a deluxe version? If not, is the deluxe version something different, maybe additional characters to play and such, as was discussed back around release?

These new additions are fantastic and will definitely make the game feel more polished. There isn't too much more you can add to make the game better.

I know I'm late but earlier you asked if customers what they would like to see first, an endless mode or a new character class. A lot of people said endless so I think I'm the only odd one that would actually prefer to see a different character class to use before an endless mode is introduced.

Also one more option you may want to include in an update is multiple save files. This would definitely be good when or if you do add new classes you can pick. :D

EDIT: Also what are some tips for fighting the final boss on level 10? I beat him a couple times so far but I had a really hard time with the fireballs. Do you have to attack him to make his sheild disappear or does it disappear on it's own once in awhile?

I will disappear after a while, but it will disappear much more often if you hit him while the shield is up.

    Thanks.

I'm playing through for the third time now, this time using lightning and I can see the need to tweek the lightning at the earlier levels. I'm having a hard time killing anything with lightning and I'm just in the first couple floors. :( I mean I can kill them but it just takes a lot longer than the other types of magic.

I did hear it was super powerful at the later levels though. :D
