Jak56: No 5-star review for Solomon's Keep on Touchaholics?? Bah! (Just to make it clear, I am not part of Raptisoft, just a fan!)
Hmm never Crashed on me only two problems again minor: sometimes when going through the door back to town a couple of fireballs shoot when in town major problem: when I took the stairs to floor twelve I.... Was stuck in a wall tried to teleport bu didn't work, restarted app did nothing and I could move so no magic door noo an hour gone, But music sounds great and so does the voice overs though it's hard to hear what he says after you complete a gated area, also the story of how he saved his skill points made me lulz
I had not any of the issues you mentioned in this thread...finished two times with missiles and fireballs...great game...diablo has a son! thanks to the developers!
Good review! I have to agree! Btw, your comment on the game not being bright enough - it's in the feature list of version 2.0 which will have the option to brighten up the screen. So even what you mention as the only flaw will be fixed.
Just an update for all the kind people here who have been supportive: The final beta went out to the beta testers today. If it tests good, the game will be submitted immediately. I am hoping SK 2.0 and SK Lite will hit the stores sometime this weekend. And to make some of ya *really* mad, here's the fixes and features that ended up in 2.0... since the beta went on longer than planned, some more stuff got thrown in. I was going to put facebook into Hoggy first and then update SK, but the integration was so easy that it ended up in SK. o Improved stat page o Map now displays what floor you're on o Onscreen experience progress bar o Magic Door can no longer emerge in "bad" locations o "Daylight Mode" has been added to decrease the intensity of the shadows in-game, for playing in bright conditions. o Boss Key can no longer get stuck between a chest and a wall o Stun skill now prevents archers, mages and demons from using ranged attacks o Thumbsticks have been redesigned to eliminate the temptation to drag them o After winning the game, you can continue to play at increased difficulty: Wizard difficulty, Archmage difficulty o Reduced sound crackling o The keep is now 13 floors high o A new boss monster has been added o Acid Cloud now does more damage o Lightning damage has been tweaked (stronger on lower levels) o New magic item type: Resist poison o New Primary Skill: Weld Magic combines two primary attacks (available after level 10) o Player can select first skill when leaving town, instead of at first level-up o New passive skill: Creativity gives more skill options on level up o Bone Daddy can no longer be defeated by cheating o After level 20, you may equip a third secondary skill o New secondary skill: Magic Circle o New High Level skills: Fast Cast, Siege Mage, available at level 25 o New items have been added for playing in Wizard and Archmage difficulties o Game title has been shortened to "SK" on the iPhone menu o Game now pauses when the sleep button is pressed o Glitch that made it impossible to reach a boss monster is fixed o Glitch that caused "endless dungeons of skeletons" is fixed. o Facebook connectivity. o A University Annalist has been added to the town. You can accept challenges from him. o Pressing any "?" icon will now open an in-game control panel o You can quit to the main menu from gameplay now o A 'Feats' screen has been added to track your challenges and accomplishments. o ...and a few other surprises!
@Raptisoft HUH? now what can i do? FIVE STARS IS THE HIGHEST ONE CAN GO! /exasperation (i'm excited btw )
Really, that kind of attitude is just lazy! Register 3 more accounts, buy it 3 more times, and give it 3 more 5 star reviews. Or, "borrow" your friends' ipod, "accidentally" purchase it on it, then leave another 5 star review. Or, start a website as popular as touch arcade, and put it on the front page as the BEST GAME EVER. Or, buy advertising space for the game. Or, start a cult around the game and grow it to millions of members who each do all of the above. This is just a start! Think of all you could accomplish if you really wanted to!
I meant the screen brightness The game is very smart! It is one of the deeper games I played lately, and for sure one of the games I have the most fun with. For the price of $1 I think the value is unrivaled. I must have spent over 10 hours with it so far. In general I think a game should have a tight balance between not being too easy and not being too hard and frustrating. It's a very rare quality. Plants Vs Zombies in my opinion hits that magical sweet spot. And so does Solomon's Keep.
If we really want to go overboard - now we need Solomon's Keep to have a game world like Oblivion, with many quests and locales, where Solomon's keep is just 1 of the quests, ahhhh gaming nirvana!...
Nothing would delight me more in life than to simply do that for the rest of my career... expand the world, let people visit the ruins of Solomon's Keep in sequels... find the bastard Son of Solomon twenty years hence... that'd be a life well lived! I do have a fairly good plot in mind for SK2, tho. We'll see if that pans out.
I keep coming back to this game. It's really well done, I'm looking forward to more content! Going to leave a 5 star review shortly. Congrats on being the #3 paid app in Canada!
I guess I should remember that English is not everyone's first language and thus they may not get some jokes/puns. This is not an insult to anyone who didn't get my jokes! Even if it is your first language, it's writing, it can be hard to convey properly. I am sorry if I insulted anyone, it was meant in jest!
