Good! Other than pausing when the screen is off, keep it feature-complete! Worry about more features after! Feature creep kills updates...we all want chain lightning magic missile exploding fire death more than a stat page that delays it 2 days!
still having some trouble on level 9 rooms...lol...I tried to balance it well...this game does have a curve alright...
I agree. Great spell design on that one. Wanted to i++ on that uberstats suggestion. I would really love to have a 'high score list' kind of thing. I've played the game a good 15-20 times and plan on playing a lot more. Having a High Score list for XP or Gold or monstered killed or time taken to win, etc would be lots of fun. I'm talking a personal high score list....as in, I'd love to have a way to sit down and say 'I'm going to beat it faster than I ever have' or 'I'm going to beat it spending as little gold as possible' etc
that is for 2.1. they're on internal testing for 2.0, seriously, stop trying to delay it. we can have 2.0 next week or 2.0 plus uberstats in 2 weeks. I'd prefer 2.0 personally and have that come next.
I agree with everything in this post, but deadclown was just pointing out his support for an uberstats page. The dev already said that in his great wisdom he's going to leave that for a future update and get 2.0 to us as fast as he can.
Was just going to write about this... Good timing - I came on to ask if +XP items were stacking. I was in a near identical situation; from ~4th floor on, I was equipped with +50%/+50%/+25% XP items. I ended the game at lvl 26, which was great, but not as high as I expected it to be. Since I normally end the game at lvl 22, I clearly got a bonus, but I anticipated it to be higher. Question on +Gold items: Do I need to have the item on when I physically pick up the gold, or do I need to be wearing the item when the gold spawns to get the bonus? John, thanks for such an awesome game. I plan on gifting it to my other iPhone friends because they need to own it (haven't done that since MiniSquadron.)

First of all, great game. I already got 2 of my friends to buy it and they love it too. Working on my 3rd friend now. This is my favorite game so far for the iPhone! A quick question: the staff titled "+2 to battle mage" - does this improve you mana consumption? If, for example, I have mana battle mage lvl 3 - 30% less mana drained for all offensive spells, if this staff is equipped, will it be as if I am now lvl 5 with 50% less mana used? Thanks for this great game. Can't wait for version 2.0. Seems it will be amazing. EDIT: my 3rd friend bought his copy, he loves it too!
Thanks for the compliments, and the word-of-mouth! Yes, that's exactly how the staff works. If you equip it and look on your skills list, you'll see that your battlemage is now behaving as if it is level 5 so long as if you have the staff equipped.
Yes I just noticed that (silly me, quite obvious too) and beat the game with the magic missiles cranked up to level 9. I found that buying the missile skill and upgrading the mana/health skills on level-up works best for me. Well, I did have a 100% and 50% more gold rings as well so I could afford to buy all the missile skills Then I just leveled up battle mage up to about level 5, and with the +2 battle mage staff I pretty much didn't drain any mana when firing two lvl 9 missiles. Great game, will start over with the lighting skill this time.
This thread should be more active! If we keep talking about the game, then the thread will stay on the front page so more people will see it and hopefully click on it. While we're waiting for 2.0, let's think of fun challenges. For example, I might try playing through without ever spending Gold. Or I might try playing through without using any rings. Or any equips (that sounds brutal). What do y'all think? Do any of these ideas sound good? Do y'all have any other challenge ideas? Which one should I play through?
woo, best game yet. i've just killed bone daddy, im level 24, got battlemage maxed, level 2 mage shield, level 6 lightning, level 3 chaining, level 4 stun, plus some into mana recharging before i learned battlemage. i am switching between items a lot - got a 50% and 25% exp ring, 25% exp staff, using together for battling.. then i got 500% gold staff i equip when opening chests, and ive got 2 rings that add +1 and +2 to lightning for when i get to solomon. This is the first i've played a lightning build since my first game, which i accidentally erased after killing bone daddy. Can't wait for the update! I'd like to keep this character so i can stil play him after the update, but i think i'll end up finishing this morning.. and aside, finally played through a bit of hoggy, fun game! i'm pretty much sold on any upcoming Raptisoft titles Ever need any beta testers i'd gladly help. I'd love to test for a dev who puts so much polish and thought into their games.
Is this a 2.0 feature or is it coming later? Also, I'm thinking that 2.0 will give us players something to compete over in this thread.
It does need to be more active. I can tell you that I am playtesting v2.0 and it has some cool stuff added. Your idea is a good one! I actully brought this idea to Johns attention about a week ago. Great minds think alike. As you see he is adding this and I beleve it will greatly add to the reply value. John is a genius when it comes to inagrating cool stuff into a game in a creative manner.
I created an account just to post on this thread... because this game is AMAZING! But caps aside it needs recognition. The talents and gameplay are beautifully designed. The only real gripe about 1.0 seemed to be that there wasn't enough time to experience all the awesome content in a single play through. As it appears 2.0 will address this and completely fix it, I could easily see this game becoming the single greatest rpg for the iphone. It will be the type of awesomeness that other developers strive for and a standard that other games are compared to. The Dev's activeness on this forum is another huge thing in the game's favor. I feel like if I had a question or an issue I could ask it and get a direct answer from the Dev, that alone is incredibly valuable to a game's success and is surprisingly rare. Awesome game raptisoft, keep it up! (My favorite is lightning)
Nice - I was just thinking of another one - choosing your skills blindly (if done by hand, just close your eyes, spin the iphone around and poke randomly , if something you put into the game, then obviously it would pick randomly for you). That could make for some interesting and challenging character builds.

As it stands right now, these are the challenges, subject to change: o I will demolish Solomon without using a single potion o Fear me, I will never equip or use an item o Ignorance is king, and I shall never buy knowledge o Prudence is for wimps, just give me a random skill each levelup o Verily, I can take down Solomon without ever dying Incidentally, SK 2.0 *was* going to be submitted to Apple this weekend, but some total monster hacked my server and I've had to spend a day and a half restoring and recovering. Just FYI. I hope it will be submitted on Monday.
