Well, yeah, but so far (and I'm on my 3rd round playing through now), I've only seen Telekinesis offered once (and I did get it that time - I think it's one of the better skills to get).
Hohoho! Hohoho! Can't wait to try to new difficulties and bosses. Do you think there would be a way to save games manually or to have more than one save game of that would be to complex or too easy to cheat with? And anyway to re-roll the items and skills of the purple and yellow mages? Thanks for such an awesome game! Can't wait for 2.0! Have any dates (or maybe be just an idea of the date) for the release?
I think the save system is perfect. It's completely out-of-the-way. And I wish there were a Main Menu button from the in-game menu too. That would solve your problem (it would be easy to reset in-game). Small bug report: every once in a while, when I open a treasure chest, it'll make the opening animation and noise and gold will pop out, but it won't look right. The chest still looks closed, but the opened lid is overlaid on top of it. I've noticed this with bunched-up chests and with solitary chests. I've seen it on average once every 4-5 playthroughs. I have a screenie if that would be helpful to you.
I've seen that, but can't duplicate it reliably, and whenever I *do* duplicate it, I'm not in a position to debug it. One of those maddening things. Since it's visual, it's not really high priority, but I'll chase it down eventually.
Right now you can save manually just by walking through the magic door... that's where you're recover when you die. There won't be multiple save slots until we add the new characters. Then there will be three slots, but you'll be able to use them for any character you want. 2.0 is in the final stages, and is going through "soft testing" which just means I play the game over and over again so that I find all the obvious stuff before sending it to beta people. If everything goes okay, it'll be submitted sometime next week. Everything never goes okay.
Fewf, this is gonna be the Next Great Pain In The Ass, I can tell... I've never seen it here, and a quick lookie-see in the code says "absolutely 100% impossible for this to happen!" The only thing I can think of is that somehow wearing the exp ring screwed things up, and modded something to 0% experience... but if data corruption on that level happened, you should be seeing weirder stuff, like wall tiles randomly positioned in the dungeon or outright crashes. If anyone can ever figure out how to get their savegame folder off the iPod/iPhone (it's called "slot0") to send to me, please do so. If I had the save file I could at least see this issue for myself. [Edit to add...] Actually, you CAN tell me something... does your experience go backwards? You can check it on the 'stats' page if you click the little backpack icon on the upper left.
There is a bug when you open a chest with a key in it. The chest is close the wall and when you open the chest, the key falls between the wall and the chest and the character cant reach it. Did this happen to anyone else ?
While we're talking about objects falling in the wrong places, I killed the first boss once while he had followed me into the hallway leading to his chamber. As soon as I killed him, he exploded and gold flooded out, but half of it spewed onto the walls of the hallway, and I couldn't reach it. Since then, I just wait for him to run back into his chamber before I take him out.
Good point. I occasionally kill those %&$ banshee things when they're technically inside walls, and the gold spawns where I can't get to it and it frustrates me. Would it be possible to add code to slowly push gold (and health/mana powerups, although that's not nearly as big a deal since those drift towards you a little anyway) that spawns in nonwalkable areas towards the nearest walkable area? Also, re merging spells, is it going to be possible to merge all three into some sort of super-mana-draining thing?
Ha, no. That would violate all the rules of the magic, and the rulebook specifically says all the rules cannot be violated before the third version.
this game is excellent. i d\l it thinking i might get a few mins of fun and played it till my ipod died.
Funn(i)est game-breaking bug ever This is hands-down the funniest game-breaking bug I've ever encountered. So....the only time Boner Dragon ever defeated me....was when he held a sidewalk sale. And to add insult to obstruction, inside the chest was his key. Ha ha effin' ha, stupidass dragon! So much for graduation...
I haven't read the entire thread scrupulously, so I'm not sure if this bug has been mentioned yet, but I am stuck in a loop of floors 3 and 4. I kill charles the hammer collect all the spoils then go up the stairs to a newly generated dungeon, however the enemies seem slightly easier, I pass this floor and go to another newly generated level which has Charles the Hammer at the end again. I have been grinding this loop for awhile just for fun, since I have already beaten the game several ways, I am basically invincible now. With magic missles at 12 in addition to all the epic items I am getting, I go into a room and it explodes with death. Great game. Really looking forward to the planned updates, they sound great.
What happened was, after I got to level 19, I noticed that I hadn't leveled in while, so I went to check the stats page to see my exp. It said 0/65000, or whatever the exp needed was, I don't remember. No matter what I killed, ring on or off, it just stayed there. Everything else was normal. I think I was on floor 9 when I got to level 19, but I'm not sure. I moved passed that play-through, so I don't know if I can tell you anything else. Also I can try to figure out how to get my save file off my iPhone for you.
i love this game. i just found a +500% gold staff in the second treasure chest on the first floor! EDIT: I died for the first time on the ninth floor because I wasn't paying attention. I was really hoping this would be a perfect run.
In case you guys are interested, Raptisoft's excellent puzzler, "Hoggy" (mentioned in the thread title) is now on sale for $0.99 USD. I highly recommend it!
Just bought this and Hoggy. Hoggy Lite was bloody excellent. It feels like stealing getting 2 amazing games for just over £1.
I got the light version, and gameplay seemed a little slow and uninvolved to me. Does the full version pick up any? More hectic movement, harder difficulty?
