ooooooooooooooooooooooo i get it. reading the whole post is more useful than skimming and posting a very confused reply.
Those won't be in 2.0 mind you... I'm trying to get the game completely stable and a little more full featured with 2.0, and then am going to start adding characters. I have to justify a price increase with 2.0 (it's going to be 2.0 plus a lite version).
Yes, 2.0 is 13 floors high (with Solomon on floor 13) instead of 10, with bosses on levels 4, 8, 11 and 13. 2.0 also allows you to play through the game again at higher difficulty, keeping your attributes. Sort of like Nightmare and Hell mode in Diablo. It's is going into testing this week, if no big issues will be submitted next week, along with lite.
Yeah, but it depends on what you integrate when you combine. For instance, magic missile + fireball = damage and mana is 50% MM, 50% fireball. Magic missile + fireball + explode + more missiles + embers + potent missiles = crippling mana unless you've gone hardcore with battlemage and channel mana, because it adds up and averages everything. So it's smartest to, like, aim for simply a light exploding magic missile, or a magic missile + lightning that just arcs a little bit after impact. The big mana eater/damage dealer is fireball + lightning, which basically gives you a rope of fire that can chain, stun, AND explode enemies.
This sounds really amazing. I'm going to go write a really nice review on iTunes. Is there anything else I can do to help you out? I've already started telling my friends to buy this game. By the way, what is the vertical bar on those preview screenies? The one in between the health and mana bars?
Oh, that's the onscreen XP bar that so many people requested. It's small, but it gives the general idea without eating up screen space. ...and thanks for the support! I truly appreciate it!
I really like this game, but I am stuck and would appreciate some help. I am at level 17, and I am in Solomon Dark's room on floor 10. I have been killed about 25 times in a row and I am getting frustrated. Is there some trick for this, or am I just screwed and need to start over? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Michael
Just found a minor bug - one of the rooms had four treasure chests set up in a diamond shape, like this (ignore the periods, it was the only way I could get the *s to space out properly): ...* *....* ...* When I opened them, some of the gold dropped into the middle, but I wasn't able to get in the middle to pick it up.
on this topic, i've seen baddies get "stuck" directly between two adjacent chests. using magic missile or lightning, it's impossible to hit them there. i had to walk a few rooms away and come back for him to get "unstuck".
Well... with Solomon it's just a matter of beating him down. Stock up on as many heal potions and mana potions as you can manage. Then, simply hit his shield until you wear it away. When his shield breaks, move AWAY from him, and prepare your attack. If you have secondary offensive spells, rush right at him and hit him with either fire ring or acid rain. While that is pausing him, hammer him with your primary weapon as much as you can until he puts his shield back up. And repeat... take out his summonings whenever they appear. In the upcoming 2.0 update, Solomon is a little less frustrating because after going through 13 levels, you're usually level 21+ when reaching him.
Hm... not a desirable situation, but probably no real way to eliminate the possibility without specifically watching for certain chest arrangements. I'll see if I can throw something into 2.0... if I have to do pathfinding tests to fix it, it won't go in, since I can't afford the CPU time.
I also experienced the glitch where you stop gaining experience. It was on my fourth play-through, at level 19. I was using a +50% exp ring, but I got no experience whether it was on or off. I was also using lightning by the way. I don't know if you have resolved this issue or not, but I remember seeing other people post that they had the same problem. Also, Lightning can be ridiculously easy after the first few floors. All you need is for the guy in town to allow you to upgrade some form of mana conservation. A +damage equip in the store also helps. Also, I got a staff from that dragon boss that was +5 damage and +1 Battle Mage. I was able to pay to upgrade Battle Mage from that guy, so I had 6 Battle Mage total. With only level 2 Channel Mana, using Lightning did not decrease my mana. I had level 8 Lightning, 2 Chaining, and 1 stun. This made Solomon extremely easy, as I just ran around in circles and aimed in his general direction. I barely took any damage. Edit: I just realized I haven't thanked you yet. Really, thank you for posting so much here, responding and listening to us and stuff. Also thank you for putting so much time into what look like amazing updates. I really love this game already.
A much easier fix might be to slightly increase the item hoovering range. Just enough so that if you wedge yourself into the corner between two chests, you'll pluck those hard-to-reach coins. That would have the added benefit of picking up coins being slightly less annoying, too! It's not a big deal, but sometimes it looks like your toe steps on a coin and it still manages to stay rudely stuck its dungeon spot. Like it'd rather stay in that awful place than hang out with its buds in your pocket.
You guys really need a different name. I read this as Rapeissoft and was like wth is wrong with these people?!?!
