    Ah, well, thank you!
I don't think HB will work on the touch without a complete 100% rewrite, but I'm going to attempt the iPad when I get a few free seconds. The problem with Hamsterball is it is DirectX INTENSIVE. Wasn't made even slightly portable.

I see. I always thought that Hamsterball would be perfect for the iDevice and give Super Monkey Ball a run for it's money! Anyway, I will continue to play it on my computer and keep my fingers crossed for a chance to play it on my iPod Touch one day :)

Does anyone have any strategies for the game? I keep dying pretty quickly. Also, I am not really sure where I am supposed to be heading. Is there a direction I am supposed to be going?

Your goal is always to find the stairs up to the next floor, and to gather experience and level up. Click on the scroll to get the auto map going, that way you'll know which areas you have already explored.

As to keeping from dying, all I can say, thread carefully. Don't just rush into a room, and try to take out some monsters from the doorway. Make sure to stock up on health potions, and take out the scarier looking enemies first (zombies, wizard-skeletons, archers).

I've greatly enjoyed this game over the last few days (time permitting). For me, one standout quality of SK (fantastic production values notwithstanding) that is that it is just pure FUN. $0.99 is such a steal so I went & bought Hoggy sight unseen in appreciation (I'm sure Hoggy will also be good)

I hope SK gets the recognition it deserves, a release during iPad frenzy can get a little overshadowed. With the update pending hopefully the two biggest potential causes of undeserved 1-star reviews (return to menu resetting game, instability) are gone. This is one gem that shouldn't remain hidden.

    Hi Raptisoft,
I picked up Solomon's Keep right when it came out. It's an awesome game, thanks very much. Been struggling with the freeze-ups like most other players, but it's such a cool game I've not let the freezes bother me much.

The list of updates looks great. One thing I see isn't on the list, that other players and myself experienced, is the issue of crackling sound. Have you had a chance to look into that? I've been toying with my iPhone's volume (I keep it around 10) and the game's volumes (various settings low and high) and it crackles no matter what any of the settings are.

Also, I'd like to mention my experiences with the freeze-ups. It's great that with txag2005's help you were able to narrow down the cause of the freezes. Yesterday I was experimenting with the game. I had power-off/rebooted my iPhone (3GS 32GB, 6 GB free, fw 3.1.2, non-jbk) before playing. Played the game, had freeze-ups several times, at various points in the game (within the two starting areas, or later after a level or two), it was never predictable.

Then I had a thought. Airplane mode. I had just started listening to a 90 minute podcast on my PC when I rebooted my phone again, switched to Airplane mode, then started playing SK. It wasn't until the podcast was over when I realized that I had been playing SK for almost 90 mins straight without one single hiccup, glitch or freeze whatsoever. Awesome! Still the occassional crackling sound though.

I exited the game and took a break. Started up another podcast, 60 mins, and began playing SK again (still Airplane mode, didn't reboot though). Just as before, played the whole time without freezing.

Then I tried an experiment. Took my phone out of Airplane mode, rebooted it, the first thing I did after it came back up was start playing SK. Sure enough, after dispatching a few rooms worth of enemies, bang, freeze-up. Nuts.

Anyway, I hope the above info might be useful.

Thanks again for a great game and for keeping up in the forums, I find the developer-active forums to be fun reads.

    -William

Edit: I played some more SK tonight, wanted to add another note, something I noticed I did differently between last night and tonight. Before playing tonight I power-off/rebooted my iPhone, switched to Airplane mode, then proceeded to play. Game froze within a few minutes. So, the only thing I could recall being different between when I played last night and tonight - last night I was using a power adapter and was plugged in and charging my phone while I was playing. So I rebooted again, Airplane mode, plugged in power adapter, proceeded to play. Have not frozen or glitched at all and I've been playing non-stop for over an hour and a half.

I had a similar experience, I am jailbroken and I run the game in Safe Mode and I did it until the game died. :)

Ok, this is by far, hands down, without a doubt, THE BEST game you've never heard of/expected. This game came out of nowhere (for me at least) and Ive never been happier with a $.99 game in my life... Ive paid $9.99 for games that werent half as good. I HIGHLY recommend this if youre on the fence. I have had ZERO issues, but im on a 3GS so that might have something to do with it. The only suggestion I have is that the evil wizard voice is a bit loud on my device, BUT THATS IT. AMAZING GAME, youve got yourself a repeat buyer here.

Ha, I just got surprised by the reaper - almost killed, but not quite. What was funny was the voiceover after that - "Wizard needs potions badly". lol

Had a weird experience today as well - when I put the phone to sleep and then wake it up, the game would suddenly run SUPER fast - like 5x normal speed. If I'd die, then it would resume to normal. It did this a few times - then upon returning to normal, it stayed that way. Weird...

Such a great game - very addictive. One more suggestion I haven't seen yet - maybe have a level up button instead of the skill choice screen pop up automatically. I'm constantly afraid I'll accidentally choose a skill cuz I was holding my thumbs down from moving/attacking. I'm guessing it won't happen because it probably looks for a new tap event after the skill choice screen appears (at least it should), but still...

Wander in cleared levels for a little and he will bite you from time to time leaving with few HP only (it is intended it seems). I think it is a great addition to the gameplay :)

    Cheers,

Simply the best dual stick shooter out there.
The most entertaining, most addicting one.
    THIS is content :)
Love every bit of it. But also really loved Hoggy.
These devs know everything about gaming I guess.

    dev - a few things:

    1. Played up to the 3rd floor then got pwned quickly. Love it!
    2. I won't buy any other "versions" of this for my iPhone. ...but if you make an iPad version with all the classes in a single app, that's insta-buy material.
    3. +1 on the request for some sort of XP indicator bar

    <rant>
and finally, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF [WHICHEVER NON-CORPOREAL DIETY YOU BELIEVE IN] AND ALL THAT IS HOLY don't add one of those damned "social networks" to your game. yes, there are a small handful of games that benefit from a social network, but this game is so pure. it'd be like throwing automated tweeting into Diablo - essentially a cardinal sin. i can hear the kids already: "online leaderboards!", "friends lists!", etc etc. first, there isn't much leaderboard fodder in the game. you crawl the dungeon and kill baddies. second, if you want a friends list, see Twitter, Facebook, AOL, or, you know, call them.
    </rant>

good game, and i'm definitely going to enjoy it. multiple times. :D

--edit-- didn't notice the "tabs" setup you've got to switch between pack/stats/skills and buy/sell. maybe add a couple indicator arrows or something...

Glad the game is getting some front page attention -- it's great fun at a bargain price. To those who are just picking it up based on the TA review (and can't be bother to look back a couple pages on the thread), the fix for the technical issues mentioned has already been submitted. Also, if you get killed, make sure to hit "Continue Game" and nothing else on the screen, otherwise you'll lose your progress and end up at the beginning (and yes, that issue is being fixed as well).
