Brilliant...and there's absolutely no need to apologize! You could always try requesting an expedited review too. Considering Solitairica is featured (well, at least in Lebanon it is), Apple may be extra kind to you guys...and since of course the SE is Apple's flagship device (lol, let's pretend that's true for one moment ), yeah!
Absolutely loving the game. Definitely will be one of those rare games I never delete. Any hope for some sort of endless mode?
Curse all you people. Just days after buying the amazing Leap of Fate, now I have to spend my money on this too? And I've barely even begun to dig into the equally remarkable Twilight Struggle. My bank account weeps for the day that IOS was invented.
I was wondering the same thing. I feel like this game will stay on many phones to come until it breaks.
Made it to level 17, and am stuck. Yes, stuck. The seagull can't beat me and I can't beat him. I'm wondering if this level could use some balancing. I can understand losing, but I'm bored to tears slogging through it. I just passed 1.5 hours for a single battle, I'm no closer to winning or losing, and my eyes are starting to bleed.
Yikes...that's new to us. Can you describe the situation, send a screenshot to [email protected] Would love to see whats going on.
We will definitely want to add more cool stuff to the game once we work through the issues. Will be watching forums like this for suggestions so keep them coming!
Found my new favorite deck. The rogue. Omg that deck is perfection. Basically swift attacks. Probably my favorite skill in the game that allows you to immediately flip a card without giving the enemy a turn Also I found my favorite item. Just my opinion but if you see xray specs in the shop, buy it immediately. That's a huge game changer. I had an ability that did the same effect but to have that effect permanently is a godsend. === I still hope stat tracking will be added next. Maybe also how many times you used each deck next to the decks and how many times you won with each one. Then an actual separate stat page for individual achievements like how many turns used, etc.
Loving this game. Such great games in the last couple of weeks!! Anyways, are all the items and spells I purchase only good for that one run?
Holy camoly, this thread has really blown up. It's deserved from this pretty cool game. It seems really simple at first and put me off, but then I saw how well it's balanced and how all the different skills affect the gameplay. I've almost beat the boss with the Warrior and looking forward to do it again with all the different classes.
Enjoying the game, never played on Steam. Agree with requests for skipable tutorial and iCloud sync. Did have a question about art assets on iPad. Is there plans for higher res art for iPads? I noticed on my IPad Pro 9.7 that all the cards and portraits have jagged edges and less than sharp lines. Thanks again!
So far this one hasn't clicked with me. After playing about an hour I have yet to make any interesting decisions. I feel the game has played itself more than I have played it. In the few times there is more than one matching card to take, the better option is either fairly obvious or a coin toss. If there are no matching cards, you need to flip the next card which is painfully slow. There are some interesting abilities, such as ones that reveal hidden cards to help mitigate some of the luck. However I have not found these add much depth so far. Perhaps I will unlock more later along these lines. I do expect solitaire games to be high in luck, but I was hoping for something more along the lines of Free Cell where there are many interesting decisions to weigh. This feels closer to the depth of Klondike.
Rbates, please go back and have a look at my comment down the bottom of page 13. I was exactly like you, but then over the space of 5 minutes after having played the game for an hour or so, the better spells and the bigger decisions started to appear and make things much more interesting. I too was thinking the choices are obvious and almost set, but then after a while the importance of spell/ item purchase started showing up. The spells have synergy and that is important. You will start to look not just at the combinations of solitaire you can make, but at your spells and which one you want to power up / need to power up or else. While I'm hoping the game goes a little deeper, as im level 12/18 with a wizard it's already opened up to show its a joy. Stick with it, force yourself to aim for upgrades is my recommendation. I actually left the warrior and bought the wizard. I also found that purchasing a particular spell (don't know name), the one that delays the enemy for two turns, was a huge help on a particular monster I was not able to get past for an hour (the pink fat prickly guy). Good luck
Thanks for the reply. I think the stalemate has to do with this particular boss having almost no offense, yet is able to continually pollute the playfield with duplicate and junk cards. On my end, I have lots of heals and armor spells, yet very little offense. This combination means that I can easily keep my health and armor up, yet can never clear the field.
Does the problem on SE phones also affect ipad minis by any chance? My wifes ipad mini 1 keeps on crashing once it gets to the title screen. She;s having to play it on my pro. The inconvenience! But seriously, any other reports about it crashing on a mini 1st gen? Anyone else playing it on a mini?
No, the issues are not related. iPad 2 and iPad mini crashes seem to be performance related but we need to investigate more. Will be working on that as soon as we submit update #1 which will fix the SE crash. Will keep you guys updated!
This game's a treat. I went for it from all the positive remarks here and with the devs participating in the discussion. It is essentially a spider solitaire roguelite, but so far it seems the spells and items have a lot of creative thought put into them. With all roguelikes and especially with card games there's a lot of randomness that often decides whether you win or lose... it's kind of the same here but the way you pick items and spells out of the shop and the fact that you can freely swap items and spells out between battles gives a lot more control compared to other roguelikes. Add to it the fact that you can examine your enemy before you shop or fight them, and it actually gives you a chance to prepare counters. There are a lot of neat interactions if you carefully think about the abilities your enemy is using. For example, I was fighting a stone enemy who could rebuild himself by healing one card in each column, and who used attacks that damaged one card. If you equip spells that help you drill down single columns, he can't recover effectively and ends up dismantling himself. Another example is the fire enchantment. Each card with fire deals 1 damage to you per turn and spreads to other top cards. But I can cast Strategy (convert all top cards to the element of a targeted card) followed by Overwhelm (destroy all top cards of the targeted element) to clear away fires while dealing tons of damage. Add on top of it that the art and effects are clean and look great... it's a must for anyone who likes well-crafted board or card games. The only gripes I have are: - No iCloud support (though the devs said it's next so that's great) - It takes a few seconds to resume a game after tabbing back, but this is seriously nitpicking. What I would really like to see: A compendium for all game elements that you've encountered. E.g. if you buy a spell, it ends up in the compendium for you to inspect at any time. Same for items you've bought. I would also like to see enemies and enemy enchantments in the compendium for the enemies you've beaten, so you can inspect monster decks and the cards that random enchantments add to them. Currently, enemies have descriptions that hint at what they'll use but as far as I know there isn't a way to inspect actual abilities before a fight. Also don't forget to leave a review on the app store. This helps devs expose their games.
