That moment when you reach here and you're so nervous because you don't want it to be all for nothing. (Though I know that's one side of the sword edge with roguelites)
If you do beat him let me know how you did it. He absolutely crushed me twice in a row. His deck powers are like all the best ones thrown into one to make him super OP. Are you going to be at PAX? I'll be going as well! You have a booth of some sort?
We are in the testing phase, shouldn't be too much longer! It was a pretty substantial change, so making sure we didn't accidentally break something.
Yes! We will have a mini-booth in the indie Megabooth section on Sunday and Monday. Come say hi! Also the next update has some Feygull tuning, he will heal much less and damage more often. Also we nerfed his dive bomb to not stun. Won't necessarily make him easier, (although that depends on the loadout and class) but will help avoid the stalemates and painfully long battles that can happen.
I've now beaten Emperor Stuck with all classes except Bard. I've gotten past the seagull everytime by having cleanse, alchemy, and overwhelm and shadow stalk. These are my go to spells no matter my class. Cleanse removes all status issues on the cards, alchemy makes them all coin cards and overwhelm wipes out all front cards of the same type (coin). Shadow Stalk puts cards in a sequence to allow for potentially huge streaks. As far as items go, I try to equip an item that gives me more hearts, one that gives me more shield, one tha stuns the opponent at the beginning and the rest items that increase whatever energy I need the most of. Good luck man! You can do it! I'm currently on 13 of 18 with my Bard deck and trying to finish off Stuck to defeat him with each deck. Game is addictive as hell.
Did my post disappear? I just posted some tips on beating the Gull. I don't want to type that all again. Edit: I see it now. My app isn't updating correctly.
Can't believe I hadn't thought of an alchemy/overwhelm combo... nice! Yes quite addictive. Warrior and Wizard down for me (each with a very different stun vs attack approach). Rogue is up next!
Rouge was the most challenging for me. I have now unlocked everything and beat all the decks. There seems to be a bug in the achievements where it isn't registering all my achievements. It still says I never unlocked warrior and that I didn't beat with all the decks even though I did.
Beating it with the Monk was probably the funnest for me. I've had a great time with this excellent game!
Some great news, the new update has been confirmed to work on iPad2, Mini1 and has also fixed the pixelated texture issue that was happening on some devices. Also included is Feygull tuning to address the stalemates. and as a bonus fast animation speeds up the monster card flip! Just being super careful and testing it a bit more, but it will be ready very soon. Thanks for being patient with us!
So devastating to lose the final fight with only 3 cards left. I think my heart is actually broken....I still love this game though.
Hey Lawliet, So I beat that bird man. To be honest, I surprisingly beat him easier than the majority of the monsters. I don't think he actually ever took my health down. I only saw him drop an attack worth 4 damage with 1 turn stun, and the rest of the threats were just bombs appearing on cards randomly and adding back just one random card at a time. Also he sets cards on fire (I never actually found out what that does because I combo'd them away). I admit I had a fairly good steak at one time owing to x-Ray glasses. Which btw, I believe x-Ray glasses is a must no matter who what where or why, just get it. Anyway, the bird man had no big attacks for me. I actually had me difficulty with the ogre guy which I think is the one before? Remember with the bombs, they don't start counting down until you reveal them (I could see them with X-ray glasses). And once you do reveal them, you've got 3 turns, which is in most cases plenty. I think really you should have a deck that just allows you to get good combo runs. The main factors that helped me there was X-ray glasses (cannot stress that enough), and really the lowest tier attack spell, which is just do one damage to a card. some decent combo runs and you take out his bombs and fire. Attached photos of what I had. Was playing as warrior btw. What was it about this guy that had you troubled? (Even I'm surprised I breezed through it, it was honestly one of the easier fights. Perhaps I got lucky on his draws?).
That's extremely strange. Your "version" seems like a mid level monster. Mine had armored cards on like 20% of all the cards (armored cards take 3 matches to remove - which will kill your game). He had drain all abilities for 2 energy and add back cards for each. He had a 10 damage ultimate attack. He had stun, etc. Some other stuff as well. It seems like your guy was just too easy. I also know the xray is the best buy in the entire game however that didn't help me. Also xray won't see through armored cards so when I got that many of them it made xray hard to use. Also I battled the guy for 20-30 minutes. So I was able to survive but he kept stalling the deck by adding more cards constantly and using armored cards to keep me from matching. Weird it feels like you fought a different enemy. Is this the last area before the final boss? The dev said the difficulty levels don't change the monsters but I fought him with the rogue (which says it's an advanced deck).
