Hey guys. Here are a couple styles of play that illustrate some tips/tricks that might help you out with getting up to speed. Sorry that this is my first post and not an intro into the community. I'll go do that now. -Greg.
Just played on a friend device and I was really impressed. I got a score of 3mil+ and a few minutes later I scored more than 8mil! Needless to say the learning curve is very small This is definitely going on my appshopper wishlist
Hey Greg, welcome! Glad to see you on here As I told you earlier, the game is great! I'm really enjoying having it on my iPod.
Seriously?! I didn't expect to buy any other apps soon . . . but this plays looks great, just checked out the flash version. Hope there's a snowboard update in the future
What a strange experience I purchased this game when it dropped, came here to say how much I loved it, and found out I've been playing it "wrong". Judging from these videos, at least. I draw a series of separate ramps very quickly, using swipe gestures, instead of keeping finger contact at all times. There are sometimes huge gaps between ramps, due to huge air off screen. This made timing and ramp composition very important. Super fun too. I was really digging it and was quite happy with my score of 6 million and was looking forward to improving upon it. Now I see someone playing it "as intended", apparently, and getting 50 million. Problem is...I don't like playing it that way. Seems too easy and slow, but I don't know if I can unlearn the behavior! LOL, I told you it was strange. Great game, though, regardless.
...damn... I've got to change my style... I think my speeds are more comparable to "Driving Miss Daisy"...
Yeah, that sounds like me 'til I tried the second method. (Oscillating my finger slightly up and down to create a series of moguls; seems to work quite well.) Unfortunately I'm getting old 'cos my reactions times just aren't what they used to be. Still, that second method does keep your speed up and lets you very easily make the next checkpoint before your multiplier runs out.
Just wondering. When drawing the hill near the top is it supposed to cover the score? Does it bother anyone else?
Heh... thanks, but make sure though that there's a shot of something in there Managed to get my multiplier up to 41 but then the battery went... <<feels like crying >>
Haha, what's your poison Andi? I'll rewind time and make sure it's in there. Weyhey @ 41, Boooo @ Battery failure.
That is strange... and interesting! FWIW someone who can break a million is usually a pretty decent player. The game lends itself to pick-up-and-play style while also fostering a competitive high-score challenge for those that dig that sort of thing. I'm sorry you were nonplussed after watching those videos. I was only hoping to help. I hope you still have fun with the game, 6 million is a fine score!
A great game for sure ! Congrats to developers ! A pure piece of art !!! I was surprised that TouchArcade didn't warn us how addictive is this game Thx again ! Capcom and others can return to school
