Back on topic: Flash game is awesome, highly tempted but I'm wondering how long the appeal will last...
I haven't even played the game yet but I know the basics from the tips presented within the online version of the game (before making a run in the game you can cycle through a bunch a very handy hints that clue you into some of the game's more obscure mechanics)! http://www.kongregate.com/games/Mikengreg/solipskier
It's been out less than 24 hours and it's New & Noteworthy in both the UK & US. Very very worthwhile.
This is the new quick fix on my ipod. It has all the great elements of an addicting game. Fast paced gameplay, good high score system, combos to be made, and easy controls. Great game, this and Monster Dash are gonna take up my iPhone for a while.
This game is awesome. Played the flash version once, got on iTunes to buy it immediately. This needs to be frontpage'd.
Playing this game makes me really, really glad I didn't spend the 2.99 on Canabalt or Robot Unicorn Attack. Neither can hold a candle to the mighty Solipskier
I didn't watch it actually mate, maybe that's where I was going wrong! Gaining speed seems to be a problem my good man. But I just got a score of 5,696,829 Is that good?
lol... compared to the leaderboards? No, it sucks! But don't worry - I'm down there with you! I'm beginning to get a hang of it... the whole trick is getting up speed which I'm finding can be done a few ways. - get yourself near the top of the screen, and then start drawing a slight downwards slope (very slight) and then you'll see the skier begin to speed up... then, draw slight hills and this get the little fella up and scoring... (eg... down, then up, down, then up... wash, rinse and repeat) repeating this a few times should build up both score and speed. - get airborne when passing through the green flags... will increase your score multiplier. - tunnels... get through these and as soon as you exit, draw a steep jump and get some serious airtime. Don't forget to watch your descent. - get through gates... this seems to give a boost? ...anyone else with some tips? ...oh yeah... keep an eye out for 1) jumps (which I still suck at)... and 2) blocked parts as they come along... both = game over. But damn... despite being really tricky, I'm loving this more than words! Wish they'd introduce challenges and multiplier via bluetooth/local Wi-Fi... or even more? Hoping, wishing, dreaming...
