Well, no. Feedback is the information given by the consumer about a product (application, in this case) so the manufacturer (developer) can improve the product. The developer may have taken our feedback and incorporated it into the application and he is updating us on the application's current situation. The developer cannot give himself feedback
so, no good description in new update... at least separate volume controls are nice addition, that pop tune was annoying.
Personally I try to get high scores... No but seriously I'm trying to find a good way to video capture the screen, so I can show people my runs :S EDIT: Have found several ways to screen record. Only have a 2g touch, so don't know if I will be able to record a decent framerate, but may have videos coming soon If anyone is interested... But yeah, I would like to see them myself anyways.
I was struggling to beat your score for *ages*, but when I finally did I got 500mil, then not long after 1.2 bill (!). Once you get in the hundreds of mil there starts to be a much finer line to huge differences in score. It's amazing how you push on so far with just that little more practice. I noticed someone has over 3 bill now! Insane. Seriously think this might just be my fave iPhone action game ever.
Damn amroc! I gotta get to work at beating you! Tomorrow... >< Anyways, just did one more round to test screen capture, but can only get the output video at about 3 fps, so screw it.
amroc, you are absolutely insane!!! one thing we were hoping is that someone would break 1 billion, i wasn't sure it'd actually happen. i consider it a huge success that someone has and we couldn't be happier. i would LOVE it if you could capture one of your 1billion+ runs on camera.
Thanks! And also thanks for making such an addictive game I don't have any proper recording equipment, but I could certainly have a go at playing the iPad version, and recording with the iPhone 4.
amroc, that is totally outtasight, congrats! I am wishing like crazy that you and some of the other high-scoring champs would share some of your tips and secrets of success. Seriously. I'll bet there are strategies that you guys and the devs could put into words and share. Whatcha think?
Sure, I'll try tell you as well as I can what strategy I use, no idea if it's the best, but here it is: Key thing is high speed, and tunnels. You're aiming to get as fast as you can, and hit as many perfect tunnels at high speed, that's where the big points are. To get going, get used to jumping through gates (to get the x2 mult and speed boost), at least until the multiplier is well over 50. Just watch the arrows and stop drawing when the gate is nearly going to appear, or do a small upward flick to reach the top gates from low on the screen. This won't reduce your speed too anywhere near as much as drawing an uphill stretch. Once your speed picks up, just stay on the course and hit the gates. Additionally once you get some speed, you don't need to worry about the jumps, just keep a straight line and the skier will have enough speed to clear then. When hitting gates, get used to staying near the middle of the screen, and just skimming the bottom of the top gates, and the top of the bottom gates. This is particularly important when going for the bottom gates, as when you're going fast it's easy for the skier to leave the ground when heading down hill, you'll just fly over the top of the gate. Your multiplier link timer won't run down when you've jumped off the top of the screen (I think), and any gates, red included, you go past whilst off the screen, will count towards extra speed/multiplier (and bonus points). That said, I only tend to jump whenever there is something risky coming up, as you want to stay on the ground as much as pos to try and get those perfect tunnels. React fast to a red gate coming at the top or upper/middle of screen, and launch into a big jump, as trying to avoid them by going low could risk the skier leaving the ground (as before), and he'll most likely hit the red gates then. If in any doubt about a red gate coming up, don't risk it and hit the air. Piasintein, yeah my best score was on iPad. My best on iphone is only a little worse (about 900mill), but then I play it more often on the iPad. Hope this helps! Anyone with extra tips?
Great tips amroc! I always thought once I got good speed that I should be doing all these crazy jumps. Interesting techniques...I'll be sure to try 'em out. Thanks! BTW...LOVING this game right now...just wish I was a bit better.
The Mike and Greg is the main maker of the Solipskier games. These are for the Iphone, iPod and ipad. And also various applications are made.
Thanks a million, or should I say billion, amroc! No kidding, your tips included things I wasn't quite getting. I can so perfect tunnels nearly all the time now, but have bad times when the screen tells me to Jump, as that leads to my guy's death pretty often. The reason why your advice is so excellent is that you focus on what to look for, quite specifically, and that's been my weakness. Coordination's okay, but everything goes so fast (delicious!) that I sometimes lose concentration. You don't mention tricks in the air. I love to do those but am not too clear on when it is and isn't to my advantage to do those. In any case I'm grateful and always happy to learn from the masters.
lol, people need strategy guide for such simple game, amazing. what was not mentioned u can drag tilted zigzag line at the beginning, in this way u will get high speed and most important almost alway hit the gates in the air, so u get multiplier boost. and the main key to good score is several tunnels in a row when u have high multiplier
