i just installed it. Which weapon would you recommend for an almost beginner in MH? i managed to play a bit of the 14 euro one before it was broken, but only up to the first boss or so. I liked dual blades there for fast movement and cool looks.
From what i read in the forums GS is the way to go? And any additional tips?

Sword and Shield is fantastic for beginners. GS is the best option once you learn more of the game's basics. But overall, other than the Heavy Bowgun, every weapon is pretty viable in single player missions. Heavy Bowguns are actually pretty good in multiplayer in cleaning up the smaller enemies.

I also didnt notice first, and i learned here in the forums... While inside a mission, go to options and there are options for button placement.

Today was the first time I've ever gotten a notification from MHXR. It was for the Lagi quest. I haven't changed anything on my phone and there wasn't an update, so I guess this was a server-side change? Whatever it is, I like it. :)

Feels like they're experimenting... First they do one event monster per 2 days, then they changed it to one event monster per day and now with the notification and back to 2 monsters per day...

Current HR 139, doubt i'll be getting any HR soon lol.

Axelion blade just use axe mode, tap one and hold. Best combo.

And easy materials have been made available permanently. lol

So the longer I play this, the more pleased I am with the control scheme. It's so simple, yet brilliant. Up until now, games with this type of action have always been made to play in landscape, due to the movement and attack buttons being separate. Combining them into a single control button makes a game like MH able to be played one-handed in portrait mode, and it has turned out great. I doubt any veteran to the MH series would have ever thought that a mobile, casualized MH game could be played in portrait with a single thumb and still *feel* like like a MH game, but I think they have pulled it off quite nicely.

I do wish we had the ability to adjust the camera angles up and down. Not free camera control, but just a few preset y-axis angles we could switch through on the fly (like in other Monster Hunter games).

I also wish we could have a custom UI setting. The few preset UI configurations are decent, but I would love to be able to move the control button up a little bit (just because of the way I hold the phone) and move the charge meters for the GS and DB closer to the top of the screen, rather than right in the middle. These are just minor things, but I think they would be great. Besides, with touchscreen gaming, being able to freely reposition all of the buttons and other UI elements is something I feel should be pretty standard these days.

But overall, I think they have done a marvelous job at translating the controls to fit this mobile take on the series. The debate on whether the overall game itself is a good mobile take on the series is a separate issue (I think it's great), but I'm merely commenting on the controls right now. I hope some other games in the future will take a cue from this one, because this is a great setup.

Cant say... But i did a little testing breaking only one part each run, and the cutting the tail may seem to give the highest chance. I have a small sample size, but the tail got me 2 los awards in 5 runs, while other parts gave me 1 or nothing in. 5 runs.

Why did I wait this long to switch to CA and download this! Game is awesome! Put about 100+ hours into MH4U. Can't wait for generations this summer.

Can't stop playing! Before a drop a few bucks. Seems no iCloud of character save system? Monster hunter is long term and I might be getting a new phone soon. No way to transfer data?
