Dayuuuum. Good going mate! Im still in the process of getting my first weapon to max level and collecting the big 3 armor sets available (lagia, los, barioth. Only missing Barioth pieces now). As far as armor sets go, from what i see it seems Los set may be the best one with a fire+30 and crit chance+6% offense-wise. Dont have the barioth set yet to see what i can get from there. Too lazy to check out guides. LOL
do take note that tomorrow(I'll just say tomorrow for now since timezones are a mess to deal with) will be gobul which will introduce the brandish (water) weapons. sns, Lance and LBG have brandish (water) DB and hammer and team 100 hp heal Water orbs on armor are chest and gloves. Hunter arts cost 2 water orbs in the JP version, I tend to mix for (Element) attack +N and (element) orb to maximize brandish damage. Personally i wouldnt recommend it because your defense becomes terrible :\ and Yes Full Rathalos has good bonuses but if you want more armor, uragaan (when it comes, no idea lol) helm is identical with more defense. If resources are scarce for you, I recommend you take note of the (element) orb armors and prioritize upgrading those, and have one of each 3 star armor pieces with no orbs but good passives and max those.
^Thanks for the tips. Im not one who's particular with defense in MH though (i consistently did naked runs back then on MHF, MHF2, MHFU, and MHP3/G. LOL) so the all out attack tip is awesome.
Defense seems to matter this game heavily. Flame Rathalos imho has a defense gate of 1k def. Anything lower than that and it deals x10 dmg.
Yeah i notice this as well. Back when i had a low level SnS my damage was penalized against Barioth on Hard when hitting his arms/wings. It basically required i reach a certain attack number and overcome the threshold to be able to deal full damage. That part is very different from the previous MH titles i have played. In this one, because of that attack/defense threshold, player skill matters less, as you are really required to spend time farming first before you can deal normal damage or take damage without penalties.
when you do show off you need that BIG images LOL btw @Melfchuah I saw you open room for multi-hunting, I think you're able to do solo in HARD mode, why bother to do multi? a better drop rate or what?!

Finally have one of everything available from the HR3 equipment quests. \o/ Should I bother with getting all of the Jaggi/Baggi/Wroggi gear, as well? I can't imagine I will need any of it, but I figured I would ask you guys just in case.
Yeah... It was just that i was pretty excited, looking forward to completing the blademaster armor set to complete my intended collection (barioth, los, lagia sets) that i forgot it wasnt barioth's turn yet. LOL That, and i didnt care about Gobul's sets as i didnt like its looks. Hahahaha
Are some of the discoveries on second isle random spawn? I'm done with everything on island except the duel blades only quest but I'm missing 4 discoveries?
Cant wait for this to release worldwide so i can spend money on it. Not because i need it coz im halfway through my character's progression and about 70% into completing the missions, but i feel guilty not paying anything for this fantastic freemium game for the amount of time i have sank into it. I even quit Marvel Future Fight (played for over a year since soft launch) to dedicate my iOS gaming time to MHXR.
Yes, starting in the second isle there are discoveries that are ultra rare. This means you can do the right quest potentially hundreds of times before you get the discovery. Most of those rare drops have tells somewhere along the way, so if you don't see or receive the item before the boss you can retire and start over. I've used a few translated JP pages in the past to help identify these, but I don't know if there are any English wikis or Reddits covering this yet.
Yeah there are reddit pics and in the wikis as well that shows which discoveries can be found on which missions.
