That reflects better the vibe on the thread. lol There are some games that are better suited for gamepads or keyboard + mouse, for sure, that are very underwhelming o mobile. However, in my humble opinion, JRPGs and P&C adventures, for instance, are made for touch devices. They found their homes on mobile devices.
Using a controller does make FFVII a lot more tolerable... I really wouldn't mind premium pricing ($20, $30, $50) if it has game play that appeals to me and gets good reviews, just like any game platform I have. I don't feel entitled to every game that comes out. I also play games on my 3DS (which I recently decided to try due to my issues with the current iOS market), Mac, and Xbox One. I certainly don't own every game that has come out for them. Good grief, I only own two so far for the 3DS and I'm quite happy with them. Would that mean that some people won't be able to get those games? Yep. Would that mean that some developers would not succeed? Yep, though how is that any different to now? As far as graphics go, absolutely, for me, it isn't important that games have excellent graphics if the game play is superb. For example, on Reddit, there was a discussion about Civilization on iOS. I would be perfectly content with a Civ II or Civ III port for iOS. Those wouldn't have great graphics, but it would have gameplay I enjoy (if your first impulse is to mention Civ Revolutions... You and I can't be friends). Same with RPGs. One of my favorite RPGs is actually on my iPhone: Quest. The graphics aren't great, but I love the gameplay (though that could just be because it is like the first RPGs I ever played, Legacy and Redshift). And thanks to Nullzone for bringing up Spiderweb, so that's TWO games I'm really excited about this year (maybe three if Rockstar is planning on releasing Vice City Stories in December). Who knows what the next few months holds. Last year, in May and June, was probably the best iOS gaming release cycle ever IMO. The App Store may have been dull the last two months, but it could very well pick again. Again, mobile gaming hasn't always sucked. I will try to stay hopeful that the market will pick again soon. Not all games are going F2P.
