So, What Clone Should Gameloft Make Next?

Here are some games that Gameloft should clone:

    1. MOTORSTORM (ps3)... They've made racers before, and games like "Race after 1977", "Uber Racer 3d", and "2xl Trophylite" have great graphics but really piss-poor track layouts that are boring and repetitive. We need waterfalls, hidden caves, rivers, floaty impossible jumps, and muddy pits to womp-around in with multiple (3-4) paths on one track and a booster as well.

    2. KELLY SLATER'S PRO SURFER... Billabong had a pretty fun game until they screwed the last update. Still, not one developer has put out a proper surf game that has beautiful water physics/graphics. It's a small niche but one that needs to be conquered.

    3. IL2-STURMOVIK BIRDS OF PREY... Yes, I know "Skies of Glory" fills this particular niche well, but the game is nearly 1 1/2 years old. Gameloft should make a very powerful, WWII flight sim with multiplayer and Retina-style graphics.

    4. HYDRO-THUNDER... I'm not sure if anyone remembers the arcade boat-racer. There is a 2-star clone in the app-store but it is so far in comparison. It would really be "Asphalt-7" with rivers instead of streets.

    5. COMPANY OF HEROES... Still IMO, hands down, the best RTS ever made, and I'll argue with any Korean who thinks otherwise. Just tweak the Starfront formula a little and add a lot of A.I./destructible environments.

    6. ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON 3... I know that's not possible yet, but I can hope.

    7. SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS... Brilliant concept. Maybe Gameloft could even use Cell-shaded graphics for something like that.

App Store has plenty of originality elsewhere. Gameloft makes clones and is know for it. Someone has to do it because, as this thread shows, people like games from the past and want it on their current generation devices; not home consoles. So until big developers stop caring about money and start caring what people like and bring their games to other platforms (this will never happen) there will be companies like Gameloft.

So, if you want innovation, see Firemint, Illusion Labs, Team Phobic, etc. etc.
But please leave threads like this alone because other people like clones just as much as originality.

There's actually a good reason why Nintendo didn't allready bring Pokemon to the app store :D
They want MONEY some people buy the nintendo 3DS or any DS just to play pokemon... ikr it sounds stupid to not release it on iDevices to make cash, but it works ^^ enough people buy a DS/DSi just to play it

Preaching a little too late. Gameloft is known globally as the "copy cat" developer, and quite frankly, they do an excellent job of it. Innovation is for Indies. Let the "BIG" boys handle the mainstream (racing, FPS,RPG) mess.

****Instead of Gameloft making more clones, they should improve on the sequels of the clones they already have. All of their games feel similar. That needs to change. The only two they got right were MC2 and Starfront.

I don't think the "big boys" are really contributing much to racing or RPGs on the App Store to be honest.

I'd like to see them make a Devil May Cry. One with better graphics and cutscenes than the one capcom made.

Super Smash Bros. would be AWESOME!

Red Steel might have been good. Though I doubt they will make it seeing as how its not super popular.

    Contra would be cool.

These are the Big boys IMO, and they've given quite some effort to appease the racer crowd. RPG games? Honestly there are more of those than any other genre.

There only appears to be many RPGs since mobile companies have ported them over from cell phones. 4/5 of these RPGs are actually generic KRPGs. So really, there aren't THAT many of them here on the AppStore, but yeah, there's a decent amount. One reason all the big name companies haven't produced too many games in the genre is due to the audience here on the iOS. Sure, a flashy new RPG from a well-known company may shoot up the charts for the first week or two, but soon enough, it falls off the charts and never sees the light of day again. Even Square Enix can't keep their releases in the top 200 for too long, being the most well-known RPG company in the world. In any case, I'd love to see some more quality RPGs.

Alright you've got me there. Though I still don't consider Firemint "big" just because they've been successful.

The recent onslaught of racers have mostly been indie though... those were the ones on my mind when I said that.

As far as I know, gameloft is a great game developer doing excellent jobs what other noteless indie devs failed to do. I am wondering how did they make it that in TA the thread of Sacred Odyssey and Starfron-Collision have hundreds of replies?
In the other hand only if to create a brand new game genre then we would not say it's a clone of here and there...As an idevice owner, we can only buy games from appstore, shall we say what exist up in apptore are reasonable. x-D

    deus ex would kick ass.

another one i'd like, because there was no real need for interface, and it had an awesome sense of scale: shadow of the colossus.

Yeah not even Bethesda has been able to make a decent open-world RPG since Morrowind.

(New Vegas doesn't count as it was developed by Obsidian).

I still say Super Smash Brothers..except with characters from all of Gameloft's games. Sigh..not a single game within the genre yet on the iOS...
