Yea thats what I was thinking. I know the sims is already on iphone, (have it)but I think gameloft can add a little more to it.
NO! its possible, but not like that... a super smash bros.-ISH game can be made, what you are thinking is a clone, even though if all those buttons work the game would be too laggy. we want a side scrolling platformer fighter, like ssbb, not like street fighter or soul caliber. they are two different genres. if they made a a game like that for iphone, with characters from all the hit games fighting together, it would be awesome, but the controls would be like this, d-pad/joystick for movement , touch parts of screen for directional attack or just buttons, for example, instead of doing a d-pad action button combo for a directional special, there would be a specific button for that special, and so on, and about grabs, and shielding, those can be specials too, no need for that much depith... characters would have shield attacks and grab attacks and melee attacks and ranged attacks and so on, instead of making them separate. now thats all solved. what do you guys think?
The game I would most like to see anyone make a port or clone of atm would be Sid Meier's Pirates! It's one of my all time favorites and would seem to be a good fit for the system. The PSP version is one of the only games that I keep for PSP around for anymore...
Um, my main complaint in bringing a Smash-Brothers-type game to the iPod/iPhone was that there would be too many buttons to play the game properly. And you just suggested that every attack have its own button. Which would amount to somewhere around way too many buttons, considering that Melee and Brawl have five standard (non-special) attacks per character, four specials, a grab, and shielding, plus a button for jumping, which I admit is debatable depending on your play style. And, also, I was talking specifically about Super Smash Brothers Brawl in terms of the game I'd like to see on the iPod/iPhone. I'm not sure where you got the idea that I was talking about Soul Calibur, since I was specifically describing the standard control setup of Brawl. And, for the record, yes, I play Brawl a lot.
Well, there a gameplay-games and there are atmosphere-games. As we all know, Gameloft creates games with great graphics and okay gameplay, but lacking atmosphere/soul. Therefor cloned FPS are welcome, as most of them are gameplay-games - who cares for the story if you can blow stuff up. Thats why imho they should never create a survival-horror-game, those games are worthless if they have no atmosphere/soul... a Gameloft-clone would be an endless sequence of dogs jumping through windows directly in front of you, spiders jumping through windows directly in front of you, zombies climbing through windows directly... Hell, Resident Evil had horrible voice acting, but the game had soul (even if it was only B-movie "soul"^^). A Half-Life 2 clone? Oh my god, noooo - never!!!
Looks like they may be delivering a Zelda style clone... http://www.slidetoplay.com/story/gameloft-teases-new-game
As people have mentioned, Gears of War and Battlefront would be pretty sweet. Also, An Oblivion or Fallout 3 or some other open world RPG would be nice too.
1. Gears of War 2. Gears of War 3. Gears of War 4. Gears of War 5. Super Smash Bros (using all their characters from all their games)
