Everybody's carrier sucks to one degree or another. AT&T, Sprint, VZW, Rogers, Bell, Telus, Fido, T-Mobile ... all of 'em suck. It's in the nature of the wireless carrier to give their customers the UFIA. The only choice the consumer has is to pick the one that uses the least number of fingers. Incidentally, where's the keynote vid? Apple usually has it up by now. I wonder if they're not busy editing out the WiFi flub...
I've had AT&T and I've had Sprint. Without exception Sprint has been the most reliable, consistent service I've had. From the phones down to the mobile broadbans, any issue I've had, and there have only been a couple in the three years I've had them, was handled far quicker than any other Customer service-phone or otherwise. When I had AT&T I could cross the street from my apartment and lose the signal. Service was so spotty, and calls dropped so much I went to Sprint. The fact AT&T conveniently changed their pricing plan to coincide with the new iPhone announcement stinks to high heaven-as does their new plans. So yeah, people complain about AT&T for a reason.
I must say, Verizon 3G is much slower compared to AT&T 3G. And where I live, 3G hasn't been much of a problem; I get coverage almost everywhere. I even went on a roadtrip from southern California all the way to San Fran, and the coverage was 3-5 bars the whole trip. Not too bad if you ask me. And almost all cellphone carrier customer services are bad. You call them and you will get redirected to some other country; you can't understand them, some of them have had bad days, and all carriers redirect you all over the place. I've only had to deal with calling AT&T once, and I'm glad they don't charge me for things I didn't buy.
Yeah, I live in Cali also, so it doesn't seem to be a problem. More like in the middle of the country is where the bad coverage is. (Don't mind my location, it's just a joke)
Man you people complaining about shit 3G coverage should come and like in the UK lol, 3G barely works here. When in the US I had amazing 3G Coverage compared.
One really cool feature in FaceTime is that it allows you to drag the little window (of you) around the screen. I think that's why I love Apple. The software is full of little-but-really-awesome features.
O2 FTFW. Little yes, but awesome? Skype lets you drag your own window about but I never do it, because it's pointless. I wouldn't say it's great, it's just a thing.
No storage bump is a disappointment, but I'd much rather have better battery life, better signal, better camera, better display, etc, so I'm going to upgrade. I was surprised to find that I can upgrade even though my contract doesn't end until next July. I thought I couldn't upgrade until 6 months before my contract ended, so that is happy news indeed. EDIT: I'm in the US, so AT&T.
I'm almost tempted to get an iPhone 4, which is ridiculous really because I'd be paying £30 a month instead of my current £10 a month... for almost exactly the same deal. I mean, I get unlimited data too, but I'm not really away from a laptop for long enough to need it. Actually I think I just talked myself out of it.
